Allow Using Xp Gained On Trial Mechs Without Owning The Mech

I don't use trial mechs alot, but I was surprised to find that despite the fact that you can earn XP on trial mechs, you can't use it until you actually buy the mech. What then, is the point of allowing the xp gain at all? It seems to me like this would be a low-impact, simple to implement change that would allow new players some level of progression and customization while they are waiting to get their first mech, or after the post-boost slump.

This could be accomplished by simply removing the restriction on spending XP on mechs that you do not own. It would make gaining the elite pilot abilities less onerous, and it would provide an incentive for more established players to get back in trial mechs, which I know the devs would love.
