There is also an interview with the No Guts No Galaxy folks!

http://www.gamespot....galaxy-6402667/

I believe this just came out today as well.

One of the guys makes an interesting observation about 'Community', and how a good community often drives you to play a game more often than even the mechanics might.

I can definitely relate, as my time with City of Heroes was some of the best online gaming I've ever done... and it definitely wasn't the mechanics that were bringing me back. (Though the AWESOME costume creator and cool powers certainly helped, lol)

RIP CoH...... RIP... *sigh*

I wont be reading anything from the NGNG guys.

So biased its sickening...unless someone can point me something dissuade my view?

I found it annoying that the person did not mention that anything that can be purchased with MC can be purchased with C-Bills (with the exception of hero mechs), which seems very important to mention. IMO, PGI does micro-transactions properly. It's not pay 2 win, and never will be.

Wut?

Mechbays, paint, cockpit items..

Fail more.

I felt it highlighted the differences in each without falling too much on one side or the other. AS someone who plays both (and MWLL) I think the more mech we get the better.

Why do people keep repeating that Hawken is twitch? I agree it appears to be and is somewhat marketed as such due to assumed similarities to Quake/UT but it isn't twitch. You can't even do a fast 180 degree turn via mouse in Hawken, which is the definition of twitch, so instead you have some special move to flip around 180 degrees. In comparison fast lights in MWO are much more twitch and can snap around with their cockpit movement via mouse control with ease. MWO has a much wider variety of play styles with much greater differences in mech themselves because of the large weight class differences and customization which actually matters. In time I hope Hawken becomes more twitch (but I doubt it) and go beyond the meaningless customization it currently has (example +0.33% bonuses, yes 1/3 of one percent, how pointless).

I see you beat me to it ;P - and wanted to quote for emphasis. I also wanted to add that you can't really have a 'twitch' game where negative mouse acceleration is forced (like in Hawken).

Paint is the only fail. Mechbays are annoyingly limited, but we get four for free, so hey.

Mwo does look washed out in colors....

It looks like when they first started to make "High Def" games and said "Hey lets add a ****-ton of brown, gray, and bloom, oh and motion blur" Anyone remember that?

and sadly Hawken will appeal to more of the Call Of Black Duty Halo Ops Field 3.5 fans, than MWO will.

NGNG is owned by PGI, so naturally they're pretty biased.

xD there is a good reason why they only show ONE mech (the least ugly one imho^^) for 2 seconds in hawken, and only the cockpit the rest of the time :)

that´s okay actually... i rather play a niche game with a smaller audience, than giving up hope for deeper gameplay...
