Finally going to get Elite on all my Centurions this weekend... While leveling the CN9-D, I came across this build, which I think is extremely nifty. Heavy firepower (just played a game where I had 850 damage and 3 kills in it) Extreme speed, decent survivability. Yes, it has an XL engine, but honestly your going to lose your arm before you lose a shoulder 90% of the time, so its probably one of the safer mechs to rock an XL with.

The main weakness is a lack of ammo. With 20 rounds of Gauss ammo, you need to carefully place your shots. However, you have a potential 300 damage in gauss rounds, and a potential 250 damage in streak ammo. Tack on the medium lasers constantly firing, and you can do some serious damage even with the limitations of the mech.

One possible variant I experimented with to increase the ammo is to drop the Gauss for an AC/10 with 2 tons of ammo, and use the extra tonnage to put a heatsink in the engine, and swap the ML's for MPL's. Gives you a better close range punch, with less importance on landing all your shots. You could also drop the AC/10 or Gauss for a pair of AC/2, and then increase the ammo count, but I'm not a fan of AC/2's.
