After playing a few games, I went to the mechlab, and in the "owned mechs" there was nothing there. Then I clicked "Add New Mech" but nothing happened.
Any help?

They flat out suck, but can give you a mild indication of the type of chassis you want to buy.
Recently, a new 'cadet bonus' was introduced that gives you a large bonus to match winnings, that decreases to normal after 25 matches or so. If you save your cash, you should be able to buy your very own death machine, and be an order of magnitude more effective and happier.
I recommend a hunchback 4SP, personally.
Visit the battlemech forums to familiarize yourself with popular mechs. And have fun! DON'T LET THE TRIAL MECHS RUIN YOU!

Oh I see, click on "Add New Mech" and the box is highlighted, click the little yellow tab that pops out the top of it that says, "Create New Mech"

Thank you so much.
Sorry it is a little late where I am and I have been drinking. My team mates are in for a fun ride.

I'll be saving up for a Raven 4X. I really like the look of the Raven, it's been my second favorite mech in the Mechwarrior/MechAssault games, other then the Timber Wolf.
Also gotta represent my local team.

Keep in mind the Raven 4X cannot mount an ECM, so if you need an ECM, pick up the 3L. Eventually you'll be able to buy all the Ravens.

ECM is a very success defining piece of equipment so you be on the save side going for a Light Mech being ECM capable which the 4X is not.
ECM Mechs:
Commando 2D
Spider 5D
Raven 3L
Cicada 3M
Atlas D-DC

My current rigs are somewhat abnormal.
My 4x Raven mounts an AC-20 and moves alongside an assault or heavy as a support-fire 'Mech. It is essentially a walking cannon. My Raven's a bit faster now with no loss in ammo count, thanks to upgrading from 160 XL to 170 XL.
More proud of after 5 minutes in, lots of anti-light hits.
My 2x Raven is more of a 90 to 600 meter combat support 'Mech. You'll find it more commonly on the forest and caustic valley maps hurdling into cover, tagging an enemy (to ensure I know where they are despite lagshield more than to help LRM boats), then popping twin PPCs off in rapid succession. It can pump out 12 PPC shots (6 from each one; but fewer on Caustic) before it has to worry about heat, and can rapidly be reaimed and fired in case of missing. It then scurries off, finds another spot, and throws out some more support fire.
It's a long battle with a bit of strategy, Zhizhu versus Zhizhu. My Raven starts to shine around 11:15 when the opposing half of our 16-man match stopped trying to kill me. I need to upload newer videos of its use, because it's been working out better than my AC-20 4x Raven.

I still feel like a total noob. I did try out the Raven 4X and didn't like it too much, so now I am gonna just farm CBills using trial mechs until I have like 10 million CBills so I can outfit a Raven 3L because that mech has a guide for it up.
I do have another problem though. I have noticed I am not getting my total damage anywhere but 100, which is really bothering me (and yeah I have yet to get a kill

Also for some reason I can't hear people using mics but I feel that is because I am PUG'ing and nobody uses a mic then.

Try trial Hunchback 4SP, see if you like it. I'd recommend it over Raven 3L as a first mech bcause Raven is expensive to get to the point where it becomes dangerous to the opposing team. HBK on the other hand is much cheaper to get where it's supposed to be.

Possible reason #1: You can't hit a broad side of a barn (due to high ping or just being a rookie) and simply miss a lot.
Possible reason #2: You use wepons that have minimum range (90m for PPC and 180m for LRMs) within that minimum range and do no damage to your target.

PUGs don't use voice comms, that's how they roll.

Comstar was a great system for new users to use, but something happened to it. I can't log in. Which means no one can. May look up comstar to see if there's a new server/password or if someone knows it, post it here. It was a great place for pugs to meet up and join each other.
Far as the 4x, seriously give an AC-20 a try. If you need some cbills, squeeze in the AC-10 instead since the XL engine isn't required for it. Give it a shot. Remember, aim for big targets, line up your shot, take your time. Stay near your group, make sure to wait until your target has chosen someone else to shoot at, then make him wish he didn't join that match!
Remember, don't try to use it on lights, that's not its intention and you'll just get frustrated. Jam it into the assaults, heavies, and any stationary mediums. It'll pay off very quickly. You'll notice the huge difference in your damage-dealt pay.
