At first I was in awe of the new graphics for the cockpit, that is until I realised that they had put the joystick on the right hand side in every mech.

Now maybe its just me, but that seems wrong in so many ways.

Without going into the fact that its usually located in the middle of the cockpit so that its neutral and you can use both hands when your mech is about to fall down because your legs are being hit or you need extra control when you are being hit by swarms of missiles, or you need to make a powered swerve etc.

What about all the lefties?

Are you honestly telling me that all the mech pilots throughout Mech history, were right handed, and had their joystick stuck on the right hand side and never needed their other hand to help steer, like um when someone shoots your leg.

Does this mean if I shoot the mech on the right hand side I can disable his controls?

Please would you fix this oversight, or can I rather not look at this?

Btw in case you have not grasped this yet, I am left handed, so was Prince Davion ;)

The cockpit is left handed. Airplane cockpits always have the pilot control the throttle with the right hand and the yoke or stick with the left hand.

Get over yourself. Seriously.

Do you complain that your car is not made for left handed people and demand them to make left handed cars.

This has to be a troll, noone can this ridiculous.

You only need 1 hand to control a joystick, it's feedback is electrical impulses not cables connected to your mechs limbs, or hydraulic lines. Here's a link to a modern military aircraft that uses a joystick. \http://fightercountr...ng-falcon/71622

Many of the newer aircraft today are sidestick controlled. All sidestick tandem aircraft (fighters and trainers) are setup left side throttle, right side flight control. Some larger sidestick side-by-sides use a central throttle quadrant, which leaves the pilot with a left handed flight control. I have flown both styles, and have not had any issues transitioning flight controls between either hand. My experience with other F16 pilots, specifically left handed pilots, has uncovered no problems with the standard HOTAS setup.

BTW, center stick flight controls are "handed." Fighters like the F15 have a right handed flight stick, due to the throttles being located on the left. However, like the above newer aircraft, side-by-sides will typically have a left handed fight controller for the pilot (left seat, right hand on the throttles) and a right handed flight controller for the co-pilot (right seat, left hand on the throttles.)

Heck, I am left handed and I even think this was a worthless thread. Of course I mostly just write and draw with my left hand. I do most other **** right handed, I even play guitar right handed... so I don't need any specialized left handed crap usually. Left handed scissors? Wtf are those?

You and Prince Davion may both be left handed.

But only he manned up and piloted anyway.

Actually one of the thing in the same fluff that gives us 10 second turns, is a quote that mechs can be configured to both right and left handed pilots.

I'm left handed too. Actually in FPS games if I can switch the handedness of the character (Unreal series) I do.

But I've never noticed this before.

As a lefty, it's called adapt and overcome in a world of right-handedness. It's what we do all day erry day. Maybe wai some left-handed peoples is crazy. At least it's way easier than changing the entire everything for your hand. Custom mice are right handed unless they're REALLY custom; I couldn't use my cool new thumb-button mouse or my old FPS-setup keyboard with a left-biased setup, because the tech either doesn't exist or would cost the sky and make it weird to use any other computer.

With the mech, you drive what you get. IRL you don't change out your steering wheel or get a European car unless you like engineering or importing challenges. Plus, it's not like your other hand wears a helmet with flower stickers on it. It can do things if you teach it. My right hand frets a lefty guitar just fine, while my left hand probably should wear a helmet trying to fret a right-handed guitar since it happens like once every decade. It's learned skill as well as naturally biased.

I thought a Mech has 2 controllers, one Left side and one right? Is the OP's complaint about which control set is on which side?

P.S. I just realized. I am left footed... It will require the Right foot pedal be moved to the Left side please. ;)
