don't disregard the structure on the forums it's rude. but i think bans are going much too far. Furthermore if you don't like people carrying a conversation about the topic unless it involves you as the topic creator then you have some attention issues that should be addressed if you want to maintain a healthy outlook on life.

on "quasi moderators" as you call them, these are people with control issues and more often than not when they actually get into positions of power they make the chip on their shoulder quite visible and start abusing whatever is in their means to abuse. If you're not a moderator just report the guy because you more than likely lack the faculties to deal with the situation in a professional manner, and i'm not talking copy pasters either, those kinds of mods can lose their clipboard for all i care.

We have had a great community. Low numbers of regular posters. Everyone knew eachother. All of our friends from past MW games lurked. They all here full force now in addition to the cattle call beta created. I'm not against mods banning for slight infractions when upon return the perpetrator(s) start to control themselves. Go back to the Mayberry feel we had a month ago around here and this topic will feel like it belongs somewhere else.

Did you ever wonder about those people that are not forum moderators that are always going around replying to posts, but not about the topic? I mean those people that think it is their job to be some type of quasi-forum-administrator? These are what I call Quasi-Moderators. These folks are always creating off-topic responses to tell you things like you posted in the wrong forum.

Let's use that as an example of the fruitlessness of these types of posts.

First, If you post in the wrong forum for a particular topic it is not likely that you choose to do so as some way to cause strife and annoyance for the community and it's moderators...it was just a simple mistake.

Second, unless an actual forum moderator agrees that the post is misplaced, then it isn't.

Third, even if the quasi-moderator is correct about a topic being in the wrong place, what can the original poster do about it? I mean it's not like they can move the topic themselves.

Forth, what's the point of telling someone if it's just your opinion. The only opinions that matter are the forum moderators'.

Fifth, authors of posts know when they have erred in post location when their post is moved by an actual moderator. When the post is moved they get an official notification, so there is no real need for non-moderators to intervene in this process.

Finally, my advice to "Quasi-Moderators" is to move on without posting anything when you see topics that are misplaced...I do and it seems to work well. B)

Look in the mirror, and read this quote aloud. If that does nothing.. do it again. If that does nothing..... do it again. and again, and again......

For my part, this is the first forum ive ever posted on, ever. When I started posting topics, I kept putting them in general discussion because to me they were general discussion topics. After three posts that were moved, with a cmment from the mod to that effect but no emails, I figured it out. It meant general discussion of MWO. I never had anyone say that i was posting in the wrong place, or tell me mean things, or any such thing, at least with regards to where I had posted lol. But this is the internetz, and people are gonna do things that are wrong, or that i disagree with' or I think are dumb. Some of them might truly be jackass trolls. But most just have a differing opinion, dont care about spelling or grammar, or, most likely, just have a different point of view than I do. So, just enjoy what you enjoy, ignore what you don't like, and everyone will be (relatively) happy. Stay classy San Diego (and everyone else, too!)!
