Your joystick support in this game is pathetic. I shouldn't have to edit config files to get this to work, and I can't believe there isn't some kind of pre-game test so that you can find out if your setup works as you want BEFORE you get owned in game.

I want to like this game, I want to buy mechs and give you money but it's terribly sad that you're ignoring the very control device that you depict in the game.

What. The. F?

I feel your frustration, qkslverwolf. I took matters into my own hands with excellent results, and if you end up with a Thrustmaster Cougar, Warthog, or T16000 I have TARGET (Thrustmaster's kick *** software for these 3 sticks, which has comprehensive mouse kbm emulator functions) scripts that make a stick as functional as a stick can be with MWO, with or without PGI support! I am an immersion junkie, and kbm kills the mood for me faster than spotting a hairy adam's apple.

If you end up with one of the above sticks (T16000 can be found for $40...), using an existing script makes it real easy to find settings you like if it's not suited to your preferences with almost zero messing with .cfg and zero .xml work. How well you fare using a stick designed to pilot aircraft to drive something that moves like a tank will be your own path of discovery. It's a non starter for me, which is why I went through the trouble to made a new gimbal for my stick. It works, and it works well.

On the subject of a training grounds, PGI understands this completely and is already working on a basic driving range and target arena, which will come in a future patch. PGI is doing a great job in my opinion, even if I don't 100% agree with their prioritizing schedule. In the meantime, the most competitive of immersion friendly arrangements is throttle/mouse combo, pedals optional. YMMV.
