Are you sure that more players may have the same pilot name?

it´s possible...

at least 2 natasha kerenski´s will be likely ;)

1.2 Can players, that are currently playing on the NA server move their account to the European game region? Or is it a "fluent" system where you are assigned via matchmaking to the best fitting game server?
A: Our goal would be to offer a onetime transfer option. Regions will have their own servers and unique accounts.

That would really suck if we got segregated like that. Our clan makes a point to recruit from all timezones so that we maintain a 24/7 presence.

I guess we'll have to say goodbye... Until Star Citizen launches.

yea, i wonder how DHB will handle this... i guess a lot of talking is to be made now...

possibility for your clan (and others) might be to stick with ONE server region... that would mean a sacrifice for those with bad ping, but basically there won´t be a change from now...

Or... You know just stay on the US servers and play on like you do now? Nobody is forcing you to switch to the EU servers as far as i know. They are just saying that you can not use your current account if you want to play on the EU server.

is it absolutely certain that there will be a eu server ? is this based on some random guesing or is there a forum post ive missed ?
from a reliable source such as PGI employees ofcouse

edit: would have been terible eitherway to see the already small community divide into even smaller communitys.

If every other MMO worth its salt can let you swap regions MWO can too. Splitting the community is a terrible idea, especially seeing as the game doesn't even suffer that badly from high pings (and I say that as an Australian).

Honestly I'd even prefer things to stay the way they are than a split.

this is an absolutely terrible idea. 1/3 of my friends list is EU. when we do 8's 1/3 of our players are EU.

Same here. We have indians and even further, too.

Q: You mentioned that EU servers may be introduced at 2013. My question is: Will your pilot name be available on both servers (North America and Europe) or only on one of them? (I ask because otherwise it could happen that 2 different people are taking the same pilot name one at North America and the other at Europe
A: Each region is has its own database and unique user names. Regions do not play with or against each other.

Q: Can players, that are currently playing on the NA server move their account to the European game region? Or is it a "fluent" system where you are assigned via matchmaking to the best fitting game server?

Sorry, but that's gotta be the worst idea for implementation of EU servers you could possibly have come up with.
Do you expect people to maintain 2 accounts to be able to play with their overseas friends? Because otherwise it means splitting the player base - in a game with so few total players - are you serious?
People will rage over this...

My suggestion is to simply give everyone 1 global account and let everyone choose before each round (or each time you log on) on which server region they wanna play that round/session.

I urge you to please reconsider your planned way of regional server implementation, because I think you would really harm the game if you do it the way you are currently intending to do it.

If Path of Exile can manage to have unlocked accounts for all it's regions why cant MWO?

I wonder why they want to do it this way. It can't be just because it's easier right? Oh wait, yes it can.

I like the idea of multiple servers, but we should have global accounts and be able to join the regional server of our choosing (and not just a one time choice).

With most teams already full up, having been playing with our friends for months on end, this takes the team out of team for me.

It'd be terrible if they suddenly said I couldn't play with the people I've made friends with over the past year.

I imagine they won't force you, it'll just be an option like in most other online games.

I really wouldn't like to see the community split... Hopefully a solution that avoids this can be worked out.
