MechWarrior 3 was my favorite!
The MFB's made repairs possible and realistic, the 3 trucks would transform and roll into position around your mech and the sparks would start flying :)
I think a option of switching out ammo and armnaments during a mfb repair would be baduss.

Is Repair at all possible in MWO at the moment?

i think your right, the mfb were only available during the single payer but having to defend them during battle could add a whole other layer to the game?

No. MFBs are not the rolling... things that they were in MW3, but rather a piece-together set of scaffolding that can be loaded into the back of a prime mover. MW4 actually got this closer to correct in this respect. Also note that times for simple maintenance such as minor armor repair or refilling ammo is measured by roughly 15 minutes per ton. Anything less removes immersion and hinders suspension of disbelief.

This has already been discussed ad nauseum. MFB's were a creation of MW3 for the single player game and are therefore extremly unlikely to make an appearance.

MFBs served a purpose in the campaign where you're supposed to be mowing down entire units on your own, but should not be included for PvP multiplayer. It would mostly just encourage sloppy play.

Actually, I think it was 15 minutes per point of armor, but I don't have the Scavenging and Repair rules by me.

MFB's can GTFO. Matches are targeted to last 20 minutes. For a single player game, ok they seem acceptable, but for multiplayer, I've seen them cause nothing but grief. It just turns into camp fests. If they was to be added, and I hope they are not. They should be massivley expensive, c-bill wise. So much so that it would make you think twice about using them.

Repairs and refits in the field take a lot of man hours, and are normally patch jobs. The idea that some magic bus rolls up and re-arms and fixes you in a matter of moments seems totally rediculus.

I don't mind if it takes the correct number of minutes to actually reload you. Repairs being much longer. That way while your busy getting reloaded I can find your base and blow you to smitherines while your shut down.

Lotta people are against the idea due to the fact that ammo stored on your mech becomes a lot less of a factor with any kind of resupply.

No. It would hurt the balance too much. It would also cause matches to drag.

The duration of the average match probably will only be 10-20 minutes. That's too short to have mobile field bases.

The only time I could see anything like this being used, would be in the case of a larger "Campaign" mode where there is a defense of a main base going down. I can see outnumbered defenders being able to rotate into a repair bay for some reloads or armor work.

Definitely not in the modes we've seen/heard about thus far.
