Hello MechWarriors!
We've got another set of Champion Mech's we'd like your help making builds for!
Keep in mind these will mostly be used by new playersl!

Please submit your build for the Warhammer Champion!

Post your build using Smurfy Mechlab, with whichever variant you'd like.
http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab
Remember to click the Like button at the bottom of other posted builds for your favorites!
The top 3 voted builds will be taken into a separate discussion thread which our designer will then later review your discussions and debates on it to make the final call as to which is the best of the 3 to implement.

Thank you very much again for your contribution!

WHM-7S

It's a super punchy splat build that's tough and has good medium-range firepower with the pair of LPLs. It's not especially fast or cool, but the armor is thick and it hits like a truck in a brawl.

Obligatory meta version (without UAC5s since the jam increase kinda sucks): http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0cca055abbf0abb

This might be a pretty decent, more forgiving build for a new player

Looks better to me than putting a newbie in a 33% heat efficiency + XL (without elites and heat gen, the usual is stupid hard to use for newer players)

I was shocked at how well this build performed recently. But a WHM-6R with 6 Small Lasers, 2 LB 10Xs, and 1 SRM 4 is a ton of fun, and can teach newer players how to handle multiple weapon groups.

WidowHammer - WHM-6R

The ACTUAL lore warhammer used by Natasha Kerensky was a stock WMN-6R... not the hero version PGI gave us...thus this...my variation on a 6R. And yes I know the meta is to torso mount the PPCs now but doing it this way let me run more DHS. Like my kodiak and mauler submissions, enough rear torso armor for a PPC shot, only three needed fire groups (2xERPPC, 2xMG+ASRM6, 4xSL), and another reason for the ERPPC's in the arms is that they can be used to shoot down UAVs better (another skill new players need to learn). Even has the very needed AMS for new players.

DrHamsterVll - WHM-7S

Yes...its named for Posted Image and its very much a close range evil hamster. Sustained 6.97 DPS, 1000 damage worth of SRMs, an AMS to save the new players from LRM deaths, and again my standard rear armor to withstand a PPC blast. 19 DHS and thanks to the 325 rated engine its nearly as fast as a typical medium mech.

Warhammer 6D

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...fd8c6b0fe7eb67e

3 Large Pulse Lasers, 2 Medium Lasers

78.4 KPH / STD 315

6 Additional Heatsinks

This mech is better in the standard engine configuration, especially as the trial. Still respectable speed and almost the same firepower as the xl build, the standard Whammy brings a lot to the table.

WHM-7S "Shieldmaiden" (3xLPL, 3xSRM4+A, 340XL)

Elegantly optimizes chassis & hard points - into a simple, flexible & effective build:
- 3 LPL (LMB; torso-mounted, good convergence, no ghost heat) for mid-range poking.
- 3 SRM4+A (RMB; high-mounted, tight spread, cooldown synched with LPLs) for short-range finishing.
- 340XL (~80kph w/o mastery, max engine size) to practice torso twisting and shield arms.

The result champions two audiences:
(1) for new players: a learning setup that remains relevant ("grows") with improving skills;
(2) for experienced players: an effective "non-meta" variant that includes a useful XL engine.

Warhammer Black Widow

The standard UAC5 AC5 Black Widow dakka is still very strong after the nerfs. It should be fairly easy for newer players to pick up when you don't have to manage heat. A player generally just has to get within effective weapon range and spam all weapons for an incredible burst of damage. This build can still out dps most other mid range builds out there. If one or more UAC5s lock up and you're losing the trade, back off into cover.

They do NOT build champion mechs using hero variants.

WHM-6R - http://mwo.smurfy-ne...11553984fbf681a

2 Gauss 4ML.

6 tons of ammo. Arms are stripped. XL300.
This thing is fast, versatile (in that it works on any map). yes it has an XL but the structure quirks on it make it XL friendly enough.

I've had various friends who love this build and as we have suggested it to many newer players who tried it and performed well.
Somthing different from the laser vomit or meta suggestions.
