Everybody should know this by now, but just in case:

If you bought the collector or ultimate pack, don't sell your "standard" CHP-1N! You won't be able to complete the standard challenge and miss out on iirc 2 or 3 million if you do.

Those hitboxes are very defined for those missile points, thats going to be trouble.

Looked at it. Knew it would probably turn out like a Nightstar. Might pick one up for c-bills.

Looks like it came down with a bad case of Nightstar Syndrome. Glad I learned my lesson from that abomination and didn't preorder its little brother here.

I loved them in MW3 so i had to get them. Hoping they will be able to wiggle-twist out dmg like marauders and bushwackers.

Champion: Probably.
Vulcan: Yes, at least I saw some in QP. Not as much as other new releases though.

You mean the same Nightstar i regularly eat every other assault mech in the game with?

Maybe it's not the mech that sucks...

I bought Collector Pack for both. I don't know how I'll feel about the Champion but I don't regret buying the Vulcan. For the Vulcan I was humming and hawing about buying it and on May 31st (last day of the early adopter bonuses) I bought the standard pack only because it's a medium mech and I'm most comfortable in medium mechs.

I didn't have high expectations of it but when it was released I played it and it felt really good. It's agile while being light enough to be quick and has just enough weight and hardpoints for a decently powerful loadout. It's also surprisingly durable for a 40 ton mech. I ended up upgrading to the Collector's Pack a week after it was released. It doesn't 'change the meta' or anything, but it's a surprisingly good mech.

For the Champion it has a quirky look to it just like the Vulcan, but I ordered it because doing some theory-crafting I found that many of my Marauder builds can fit in it with little alterations so long as I strip the armour off the arms and use the extra tonnage for weaponry. On the CHP-1N(S) can go with 2xLB10X with 4xML, or Heavy Gauss with 4 ML, or AC20 with 2xSNPPCs (though the last build will be hot so it might be better to go with a more standard AC20+4 MLs). And that's completely ignoring the two missile hardpoints in the left torso.

I upgraded to the Collector's Pack after the Charger/Hatamoto Chi was announced mainly because I felt the CHP-1N was a worthy S variant and it qualified me for the 'Top Tier' Warhammer.

Impossible to shield CT and STs, low mounts, mixed hardpoints... will live or die on quirks.

Oh, I am not worried about the hardpoints or the loadouts; they will be fine. Hardpoint position is fine, too, as most are almost on cockpit level, and in line. (Only CT HP are significantly below cockpit level).

Geometry is what I am worried about. It needs substantial defensive quirks. But with some armour quirks on the STs and good acceleration, it should be a capable Mech.

... and I like the unique design of the Champion. I want to buy it. However, if the quirks are too bad, I won't buy it.

I always loved to look of the Champion, especially loving the design here in MWO. Got the standard pack with hero addon, can't wait to take 'em out for a spin.
