FIRST CONTACT FACTION PLAY EVENT

Greetings MechWarriors,

In celebration of the recent announcement of our upcoming new standalone game MechWarrior 5: Clans, and the release of the fifth DLC for MW5Mercs The Dragon's Gambit, we are launching two Smoke Jaguar and Kurita themed events! First up is a Faction Play event called First Contact, which starts right now and lasts for a week! In early October the annual Trick or Treat Loot Bag event will begin, where you'll be able to earn TWO free 'Mechs, and many more treats! Here's the info you need to know about the Faction Play event:

FIRST CONTACT: SMOKE JAGUAR VS KURITA

STARTS: Thursday, September 28th at 10am PDT / Thursday, September 28th at 5pm UTC

ENDS: Thursday, October 5th at 10am PDT / Thursday, October 5th at 5pm UTC

GAME MODES: Invasion and Domination

This exact GHR-5H Grasshopper was already in the Lucky Charms Event

Ebon Jaguar was already in the November Free Mech Event

Im sorry, while FP even is great, You announced "2 free mech" in october so may I ask - please, give us some new chassis, we already has chanse to get GHR-5H(S) as well as EBJ... Please?..

A free variant of any of the Jaguar related Mechs would be nice.

Like any of the H variants for the Stormcrow, Ebon Jaguar, Mist Lynx, and Arctic Cheetah. And any known variants for the Charge and Hatamoto-Chi would be nice. Just saying.

will play this one. its something different to do over the usual nascar-with-the-parking-break-on style gameplay that's been plaguing qp lately. i just hope siege is enabled this time.

If only the Incursion Mode had not been removed entirely, and instead there had been change for a couple of mechanics to make it better. After all, why were those destructible buildings & turrets not possible to be targeted with Lock-Ons through use of TAG/NARC assistance measures? Completely protecting those destructible buildings & turrets from Lock-Ons made the mistake of invalidating Streaks when they should not have been! Heck, the number of turrets could have been increased, while the overall health of an individual turret could have been decreased, just to avoid those being frustrating.

Yeah... I might have been able to get in the mood for trying CW/FW/FP again if worthwhile Objective-based Modes (again, Incursion... and also Escort which needed to be made symmetric as well) were not constantly being torn away from those who liked "MechWarrior 2" & "MechWarrior 3" variety style of things to play. Also the system for Match Setup in that CW/FW/FP area needs to be enhanced to avoid wrongful pug stomps occurring.


Now that I've said the whole depressive part of what was on my mind... I wish those who choose diving solo into CW/FW/FP all the best at their chance of succeeding, even though I have heard those chances are rather grim.

The very purpose of this event is precisely to attract players to the FP. As you understand, this goal has nothing to do with quick play. Involving quick play directly contradicts the point of this event.
