Nice! TBT-7M - Upgraded with Star League technology, the 7M variant is built with an Endo Steel chassis and uses an extralight engine for its mobility. The 'Mech carries two LRM-15 launchers, three Medium Lasers and a Octagon Missile-Magnet Narc Missile Beacon. The Narc makes the missiles more accurate, but forces the 'Mech to close in order to use it. This is all enhanced with the Trebuchet's jumping distance of one hundred and fifty meters

And the best part: it's looks like Darth Wader! ;)

is it still going be saddled with the narc? people do realize that the narc's max range is inside the minimum range of LRM's right? that the system only works when the narc is mounted to mech that does not occupy the LRM support-fire role. There's a reason the narc is never mounted to any variant of the Catapult, it's not the Catapults job to use narcs, rather to take advantage of them. Same goes with ON1-M, the narc is a waste of tonnage that could go into other stuff.

Dunno if the Trebuchet would be the ideal 3rd medium. On the plus side, it's widely available. On the minus side, it's just a mini-Catapult.

Hey at least it's faster than CAT, even if it hasn't got any jump jets. Now as for Whitworth...

Dervish is the better platform, of the medium fire support role mechs, IMO.

WOOT! Trench bucket FTW!

On a more serious note, yes it is a mini Catapult, but we have yet to see how the Match Maker works. If Match Maker is based off of tonnage, the lighter tonnage of the Treb means you get to have that tonnage go to bigger mechs on your side. Treb is also pretty versital and manuverable, so a good all around mech for it's role in combat.

I expect to see the Devish and Whitworth before launch.

Agreed. But, so far, they have a done a great job of making the mechs look good, so I expect to see a TBT that looks just as tough.

OMG, I can only hope it'll be 'Mech 9! I love the -7M version, with the change of pulling the completely useless (IMHO!!) NARC Beacon and inserting an Artemis IV. Even though it was my favorite Mech from my TT days, I don't think it'll be the third medium as we already have the Centurion and the Hunchback. My bet's on the Vindicator or the Whitworth. But I'll keep my fingers crossed for a Trenchbucket.

I'm thinking Vindicator is the third medium, as we already have two Mechs on the heavy side of that range and the Limp Sword Brigade Cappies haven't gotten a real signature 'Mech yet.

It's maybe 20 years that I do not hold a Dervish diagram, but if I recall they put the srm2 ammos in the arms. One of the worst choice ever that made the mech blow up in every single mission.

A note: I had my Trebuchet painted black and it DID look like a Darth Vader!

Will we dare to dream about the team forming up this time?

PS: Yes, I know there is no centurian here, but I couldn't find any picture with a centurian and a trebuchet together so just think that that Samurai wannabe ( with the sword) is a centurian.

Seems like a useful edition, I've a soft spot for IS medium mechs.

Was reading up on the variants on sarna and reminded myself just how crazy Battletech is. Although mostly it's a missile support mech, there is one variant with medium lasers, a PPC and an AC5, a variant indistinguishable from about a billion other IS medium mechs then, and variants sporting a "chain whip", a "small shield" and a "battlemech taser". What on earth a chain whip and a battlemech taser are I don't know, those variants must be from some later version of the game I've never come across.
