Which mechs were invented or are used largely, during this time, by each of the factions?

1. Locust = everyone, in large numbers.
2. Commando = House Steiner, and even the Star League couldn't get them.
3. Spider = Marik, who sell them to mercs, other houses, and especially to their ally, House Kurita.
4. Jenner = House Kurita, and is one of their most famous designs.
5. Raven = Liao, and is one of the few mechs designed after the fall of the Star League. The clans will have have never seen one before.

6. Cicada = Marik
7. BlackJack = Davion, built near the Liao border. Liao has a few, but got their the hard way as battlefield salvage.
8. Centurion = House Davion, who have factories on their capital of New Avalon, and on Panpour near the periphery. Hey, it is an Autocannon focused mech, so that means it's Davion without having to look that up.
9. Hunchback = Marik, built on Kalidasa, near the Steiner border.
10. Trebuchet = Marik, also built on Kalidasa, and on Stewart, and Irian, all near the Steiner border.
11. Griffin = Everyone. Originally a House Steiner design, they lost the plans to espionage to House Marik, who sells mechs on the open market, and factories have changed hands so you have Kurita using mechs that were originally built on a House Davion planet they conquered, and Marik building House Steiner designs they stole, and ironically House Steiner using them after capturing the factory. A quite convoluted mess, honestly.
12. Kintaro = High tech and Star League only, but who fell and left only Comstar on Earth with a secret hoard of high tech mechs, the Com Guards. However, House Davion invented their own form of interstellar communication, angering Comstar, who then just gave them to House Kurita to attack the Davions. They are built on Mars, 4th planet from the Sun.
13. Shadow Hawk = Everyone. It is one of the most common designs, and supposed to be the most well rounded mech there is. Where it is built depends on the variant. The old 2H is the periphery state of Magistry of Canopus, outside of House Marik space, who sell them to House Davion. The 5M is House Marik, who sell them to Kurita and Liao. The 2D2 is House Steiner.
14. Wolverine = House Davion, House Liao, and House Kurita. There are factories on both borders of House Davion, and have changed hands between the three houses.

15. Dragon = House Kurita, and is well know as one of their main designs like the Jenner.
16. Quickdraw = Marik and Kurita who both build it.
17. Catapult = House Liao, who have lots of variants for it, including missile artillery called Arrow IV. So now you Liao players know where your offmap artillery strikes are coming from.
18. Jagermech = Both Liao and Davion used to build them, but all of the factories now belong to House Davion. Again, an autocannon mech, and that is House Davion in a nutshell.
19. Thunderbolt = everyone, even minor periphery states can build them like the Taurian Concordat with not one, but two factories in that small state.
20. Cataphract = Davion, with a nod to Liao. In desperation for mechs House Liao designed a frankenstein monster out of spare mech bits (marauder legs, torso, right arm, phoenix hawk internal bits, shadow hawk left arm), but no sooner than they got the factory up and running they lose it to House Davion. Some days you just have no luck, eh?
21. Orion = Marik, but built for the Star League, and is the ride of none less than General Alexander Kerensky, the leader of the old Star League Defense Force. The Protector Hero Mech even has the General's Star League style dagger-stars on the biceps to display his rank, a 4 star general.

22. Awesome = Marik, but for sale to anybody.
23. Victor = Davion, Kurita, Liao, St Ives Compact. It has an Autocannon, what can you say? Davion again. However, they lost the factory to House Kurita in 3039. Davion now buys them from the St Ives Compact, a small state they helped break away from House Liao.
24. BattleMaster = Marik, Davion, Comstar all have factories, and the BattleMaster is the personal ride of Hanse Davion himself. Kurita got theirs from the ComGuards in a screw up. They were not supposed to get high tech ones, but the ComGuards gave them the good ones instead by mistake. Again, Marik is selling mechs at this point, so anybody can get them.
25. Stalker = Marik, Steiner. Both have a factory. The Steiner one is on desert planet of Twycross, a planet that is also famous for the site of the first major defeat of the Jade Falcons clan.
26. Highlander = Star League, Liao. The Mech is another one of those super high tech designs for just the Star League Defense Force, however House Liao eventually built a low tech version as well for themselves.
27. Atlas = Davion, Steiner, and Kurita. Kurita had the fewest, but now they also have one of the Davion factories as well.

It might be useful to know that most mechs are used by all factions, though much more rarely than the ones the factions can build themselves. Star League mechs in particular are used by almost everyone. Only a few specific designs are exclusive to a faction, and some Star League mechs have completely disappeared from the inner sphere. Also at this point in the timeline mechs listed as belonging to either Davion or Steiner are available to both as they are currently united in the Federated Commonwealth.

Correct. There technically isn't a Davion and Steiner faction in 3050. They've been a single nation for decades at this point.

Also, to my disappointment there is a faction that is missing. There is a region of Liao space called the St. Ives Compact that gained it's independence from Liao.

If the minor house of the Free Rasalhague Republic can have their own faction listing in the game, i think that the St. Ives Compact ought to as well.

Hate to say it, but this is incorrect. The Federated Commonwealth exists in name only. The 4th succession war was a wedding gift to Melissa and therefore to the Lyran Commonwealth. The IS map should actually look like this:

Posted Image

Hanse Davion and Melissa Author Steiner-Davion are rulers of their own realms. Granted there is much integration and friendship going back and fourth, but the Federated Suns and Lyran Commonwealth are still independent nations technically. Now per the lore, the Federated Commonwealth will only exist after Victor Ian Steiner-Davion takes the throne. From Sarna.net:

3028: Federated Commonwealth unofficially formed, Still under contract Wolf's Dragoons betrayed and attacked by House Kurita and the Battle of Misery ensues, Fourth Succession War begins, Gray Death Legion discovers Helm Memory Core, Hanse Davion and Melissa Steiner marry, Northwind Agreement takes effect, Operation Riposte takes place, Tormana Liao captured, Thomas Marikpromotion,

3039: Katrina Steiner abdicates, Melissa Steiner-Davion named Archon, War of 3039 begins, War of 3039 takes place

3041: Armed Forces of the Federated Commonwealth created

3052: Battle of Luthien, Battle of Tukayyid, Wolf Khan Garth Radick killed on Tukayyid, Natasha Kerensky elected Khan of Clan Wolf, Phelan Ward elected saKhan of Clan Wolf, both Clan Ghost Bear Khans killed on Tukayyid, Clan Smoke Jaguar Khan Lincoln Osis believed killed on Tukayyid but is later rescued, Demona Aziz rebels and forms the Word of Blake. New service contracts signed with each House but Marik, Free Worlds League signs HPG service contract with Word of Blake, Hanse Davion dies, Myndo Waterly assassinated, Operation Scorpion takes place, Romano Liao assassinated, Sharilar Mori named Primus of ComStar, Sun-Tzu Liao betrothed to Isis Marik, Sun-Tzu Liao named Chancellor, Thomas Marik named Primus-in-Exile of Word of Blake, Word of Blake signs contract with House Marik

3055: Melissa Steiner-Davion assassinated

3056: Archon-Prince Victor Steiner-Davion takes command of Federated Commonwealth, Federated Commonwealth officially created, Ryan Steiner assassinated

I also have paper books with information that confirms all this data, but a paste from Sarna was easier. :)
