Watch the Live Steam Event Courtesy of GameSpot! [Live Stream]

This Friday Nvidia is hosting Piranha Games and MechWarrior Online with ‘MechWarrior Community Day’, at the Nvidia offices in Santa Clara, California. Guests will get the chance to meet with Russ and Bryan, IGP reps and Nvidia staff, view developer demos, learn more about our technology, enjoy free beer and pizza plus go head-to-head with MechWarrior Online for the chance to win awesome prizes.

While the lucky few will get to enjoy all these perks in California the rest of us will be left wondering how it all went down..

Well wonder no more!

Piranha Games and Nvidia plan wall-to-wall coverage of the event right here! Be sure to login to the official ‘Mech Madness Tournament’ forum thread and our chat room. We will have live updates from the show, photos (and maybe even a video) during all events, and most importantly, updates on the tournament itself! Be sure to check us out on Twitter and Facebook for up to the minute coverage and all sorts of goodness.

Our chatroom will be alive and kicking with updates from the show..We’ll make it feel like you are actually there!

Watch this space from 8PM Eastern (5PM PST) for live coverage.

How to get coverage:

We look forward to seeing you, and we hope you enjoy the tournament!

Russ has a team captain plan in action, he will assign captains, then give them a team to manage. Teams will form up randomly, making exceptions for groups of people who have hooked up and want to play together. In all 32 groups will be vying for the 'cup'...which of course doesn't exist.

Now I want to name and design a virtual cup...ideas?

Make a cup with the current mechs in-game around the base of it. The name of the cup could be the Solaris VII Cup.

Have fun designing it :D. You can also remove the legs and arms, and leave only the "orb" as the trophy

Do we have any idea what the rules for the tournament are going to be?
For example, Stock Mechs only, or unlimited customization or...?

Few questions:

How many players per team?

Will there be a limit to the amount of chassis per team, could a team all run Jenners, or Hunchbacks?

What kind of beer, what kind of pizza?

And of course, what are the prizes?!¿

Yeah, I'm wanting to know the rules too. At least let us know by thursday so we can do last minute strategizing.

Um, I demand a live feed?? At least stream the matches eh?!

EDIT: Wait, what if they're not really hosting a match! What if it's all an elaborate trap to lure in specific people and brainwash them! DON'T GO! DON'T DO IT GAIZ!

*whew* I feel much better about there being teams. I was a little worried that the tourney would be 1v1 deathmatch type dealies, and im not gonna lie, im pretty bad at those.

Wouldn't it be very nice to directly broadcast the matches to the net like they do with DOTA2 tournaments and the EVE alliance tournament?
