I have just participated in the greatest game I think I will ever see. 10 light mechs. 6 Raven 3L's, 3 Jenners and a Death's Knell. Im so glad that the 1:1 mech class ratio is gone xD

As an Atlas pilot I can confirm that a swarm of Ravens, Jenners, and metal babbies is horrifying.

Something needs to happen, cause ELO is causing some real interesting crap.

The problem is it's valuing higher ELO player with lighter mechs with heavier but lower ELO players. The problem isn't the ELO, it's the variants used as a 3L Raven has many current inherent qualities that allow it to survive pretty ruggedly... unlike in comparison the Jenner or Spider.

So even High ELO players in larger machines get a small 3L as their low ELO opponent... it's the machine not the pilot that tends to tip the balance. Why because most games I had my team was left without any light's against 2-3 3L raven's on the opposing team. I'm hoping now the tourney is done all these matches become abit more balanced again.

Had a cool game yesterday on Frozen City. I was pugging in my Hunchy and we had quite a heavy team with some mediums. The enemy had 3 raven 3ls. I'm not sure where they were during the main fight but we managed to beat the rest of their team with 4 of us surviving. Me, two Illyas and a Dragon. We were pretty badly damaged and you could see these 3 ravens in the distance circling about trying to draw us out. They attempted to swarm us but one got legged and destroyed and the another on a second attack, which just left the one. We didn't want to leave the base at that point and it didn't want to come to us. The Dragon ended up going to other base as it was the least damaged. The timer ran out at the point and we won.

While the game dragged on it was nice to see players working together a bit more than usual. Plus it was just amusing to see these Raven running around in the distance trying to find a weak spot.

Most chaotic game "I" have ever seen was yesterday in the solo queue.
Was in my founder's Atlas on Forest Colony. Nothing special for the first few minutes, just the usual "my team sucks and dies one by one because they all decide to chase a lonely Dragon on the water". After crippling two other Atlases, I took a look at the scoreboard and knew that it was a hopeless cause. Only left were me, a K2 on my team and 4 enemies. I already had 2 (mostly my work) kills and was quite damaged, so I figured the game would be lost. So I walk up to their base (the lower one) and see an Atlas who didn't notice me at first. I fire at him one salvo, prepare for the second but then *bang* I'm on my desktop because some program decides it needs attention. I waste precious seconds to get MWO running again. I'm back and still alive, so I finish the other Atlas. That's when a Dragon and a Raven appear, both intend on killing me. I have no Idea where our K2 is. So we start dancing around that pillar of stone in front of their base. I'm heavily damaged at this point, the Dragon was still kind of new (IIRC). At this point, I know that the game will be lost. Even if I can destroy both enemies, there's one mech left and our K2 seems to be AFK. Just as I think this - *bang* back to desktop again. I should have terminated the process the first time. I change to MWO numerous times because it always kicks me back to desktop until I kill the other process (already raging because it was in the middle of an infight with 2 other mechs...). I'm back in the game and lo and behold: I'm still alive. I proceed to kill the Dragon, then the Raven, who apparently weren't able to kill me despite me having lost many seconds on the desktop (don't want to know how it must have been for my dead team mates spectating me!).
Just as the Raven goes down, there comes the last enemy mech, an Awesome, also not that badly damaged. Fortunately that's when our K2 decides to make an appearance and the Awesome, for whatever reason, fires on the K2, so I'm able to kill it, winning the match, despite my CT being nearly cored.

End result: I've got 6 kills, 2 assists and 1200 damage. The surviving K2 had about 50 damage done.
I laughed hysterically and just typed "Can't believe we won this" into chat. A game that seemed to be lost from the beginning, I literally won it on my own despite being kicked to desktop twice during close combat.
As it goes, I forgot to take a screen. But you can ask Adridos if you don't believe me, he was there with the enemy team (although I think I didn't see him during the match) and he also couldn't believe it :D

Had similiar games like that RedDragon, last night running around in a founders ATLAS with nothing but orange internals I somehow ended up on 7 kills in a close range brawl and missed out on the 8th kill by my AC/20 round clipping a bldg. Always a fun game when the chips are down and you go for it anyway.

When in my Hunchie and have a choice between heading over to fight a light mech or going the opposite direction to fight an Atlas I choose the Atlas every time. At least I can actually hit the Atlas.
