Greets Friends.

Those of you dealing with high pings and latency issues i have 2 questions.

Who's your IP? Verizon, Comcast, or other?
Where are you? East coast, West coast?

Here's what I found out and I'm making a couple assumptions here. PGI is renting the servers from a company called Internap Network services. Which the headquarters for this server is in Atlanta GA. The servers however are in Toronto. Most of my ping issues are coming from 3 connections.

border1.te7-1-bbnet1.tor001.pnap.net [70.42.24.132]
border1.te9-1-bbnet1.tor001.pnap.net[[70.42.24.196]
and
internap-gw.ip4.tinet.net[77.67.71.62] <- server is owned by Inteliquent located in Chicgo which also has a high ping at the same time. (haven't figured this one out yet)

It looks like PGI just renewed a one year contract on the servers on Feb 4th. Scheduled to run out March 10th, 2014.

My guess is PGI didn't buy enough bandwith to support the player base though I'm not positive.

What I can't figure out is why it only seems to be happening to certain verizon customers. My clan mate would is literally 3.5 miles away from me. Is running a 35 ping during prime time on Comcast while I'm running 180 on Verizon fios.

Anyway, I'm determined to get to the bottom of this. If there's anyone who would like to help that would be great.

Currently Internap is blocking ping and tracert to the ip: 70.42.24.74 My guess is because everyone and their grandmother has been pinging the hell out it trying to figure out what's wrong. However, to run a tracert
Start>run type cmd
type tracert www.mwomercs.com and look to see what the pings are and if any of those 3 servers show up.

Incidentally, apparently internap-gw.ip4.tinet.net is in Germany, of all places. Why on earth traffic from North America to North America is being routed via Germany, I really don't know.

Also, it seems like League of Legends had similar routing troubles:

To the OP:
It would appear that your problems are coming from the border routers. These are what connect two different internet backbones. You can either contact Verizon or do a "whois" on both border routers IP and e-mail the respective admin for those routers. Be sure to provide your trace route info and point out the problematic points in your trace.

Lastly, you can also try using this:

Select the server in Toronto and it will do a trace route from the Toronto server to your machine. Reason I'm suggesting this is because trace route only shows half the picture. Packets going from your machine to the server might have a different route when returning.

Hope this helps!
