I really miss collisions. Its getting really lame when all you have are people running up to you, hugging you and then firing. At least put in collisions to penalize that kind of idiotic game play.

Hopefully it will be added back in soon. Physical attacks would be nice as well if they figure out a way to make then work.

The double-edged sword of collisions is that it also actively encourages and rewards this exact kind of dumb behavior ALA Dragonbowling, Jennertackles, etc.

Even though a semi-truck IRL would win against an SUV any day of the week in a ramming contest, that doesn't mean the semi should actively do everything in its power to ram that other car unless it absolutely has to. Ramming should be a last resort, not an inconsequential bumper cars humpfest.

It's done due to SRM's. But in the past, I swore that there was blowback damage from SRM's to you if you pulled that crap move.

You mean all 6 of them?

After the semi-fix to netcode a while ago, most bad light pilots (who already weren't really that numerous) moved up to heavies (particularly Splatapults) and assaults. If anyone's gonna QQ, it'll be by people of various weight classes getting rammed over by Splatapults (and Dragons, and maybe even Awesome 9Ms/Pretty Babies. Awesomedozer, anyone?).

It really can't come soon enough. I consider myself a pretty good light pilot, I almost never even get near enough for tripping, but a random scrub can hop in his 3L and blast my jenner to pieces In the midst of my own team, absolutely 0 skill required to do it.

Collisions will be great against Ravens, Commandos, and Spiders who run up under an assaults guns and fire with impunity.

I've seen it more with Raven 3Ls than any other mech, most likely because terrible players choose that mech due to its current imbalances. If I could knock them over by moving forward, it would adjust their attitude quite a bit.

Seems like Paul getting embarrassed by goons was the source of many major nerfs

How about a "trip" option then?

More like an option to keep other mechs off my nuts. I don't know if I'm dancing at the Blue Oyster or playing a shooter.

See if they would just implement Axes this wouldn't be a problem. I could play Lizzie Borden and the little pests would stay away.

I'd even pay MC for a skin that makes my axe look like a rolled up newspaper.

Give the Assault mechs ability to kick with their legs once collision is added, so they can kick light mechs circling them into the ground.

Charging, in order to inflict damage on the opposing Mech, is an intended part of the game. It has been for 30 years in table top (TT)! There's even a big Mech in TT designed specifically for this. Guess what? It's an 80 ton Mech named the "Charger" and is a 5/8 mover (top speed 80kph). It's been awhile since I played table top, but I think at full speed it could do 70 points of damage if it made contact. The trouble was making contact with the enemy could be tough unless you had a really good pilot, and failing to connect meant you were often severely punished.

I'm not sure how effectively this would translate though, since making contact, or hugging somebody is sooooo easy in this game. Its hard not to miss.

I haven't been playing long enough to have seen the previous version of the charging rules in MWO, but am eagerly waiting. Just like everyone else, I'm scheming to build out my Mech that rams like a truck with a few JATO rockets strapped to it.
