Some People are having issues since patch where some commands on devices that are not the keyboard and mouse do not work in game, even though the options menu sees the key presses.

Affected controls:

Throlle,

ECM Control

Score Board

Show Target Info

Show Battlegrid

Solution:

Go to the game directory. Go to USERS / PROFILES / YOUR USERNAME /

Here you will see 4 xml files.

Copy and paste the actionmap.xml if you want to back it up. Now open up the original one in NOTEPAD.

Go edit REPLACE (or Cntrl + H) and replace index="2" with index="1" - click replace all.

You have to right click on actionmap.xml after you make the changes and switch it to READ ONLY so that mechwarrior Online doesn't revert the changes. Sorry I forgot to say that in my post, Im add it now.

If you don't the game will work properly once or twice then revert back and the xml file will say everything is back to index="2"

This fixed it for me, I hope it works for you too!

EDIT** If you are using this fix and wish to CHANGE YOUR CONTROLS you have set actionmap.xml so that it is NOT read only. Then open the game, make control changes, save, then close game, then set actionmap.xml back to read only.

This problem still seems to be a major problem, affecting myself, every single friend I have that plays, and basically anyone I personally know who uses joysticks or throttle pieces.

I have realised that setting the actionmap.xml to read only makes it so if you ever CHANGE CONTROLS they will not stay.

If you are experiencing this problem, and are using this fix to fix it, you will have to set your actionmap.xml back off of read only, save it, open up the game, make control changes, click save and save settings, then close the game. With the game closed you may go back and set the file back to read only.

I tried testing my joystick today with it set to read only off... first game, same problems of throttle, score gird battle grid and other buttons not working on joysticks...

PGI PLEASE FIX THIS

S!

Did the change of index="2" to 1 and put as Read Only. My joystick bindings work again. Great!
