Game Types Are Poorly Designed

The amount of times I have dropped with a group that understood the game type is far and few in between. Seems like when I play an Assault game, someone on my or the other team caps.. a waste of time. If I play a Conquest game, my team acts like it is an assault game and attacks the enemy in one area having no concerns for the caps. It frustrates me because in most cases it results in my team losing.

If PGI doesn't start putting in more effort on game design, and a little less time on frivolous stuff like cockpit items and skins, then I'll drop this game like a bad habit. And I'm the demographic you'd like to have the most... money to burn.

Please PGI give me a reason to stay and invest...

Agreed.

Most people hate it when base assault degrades into base capping

And then you have ***** players who are like "defend your base yo" who fail to realize that if both teams sat around defending their base, there wouldnt be a game.

cap timer needs to be proportional to map size.

You know a great way to not get your base capped? Stop running in ******* D-DCs then bitching "oh why won't people just brawl with my slow ***. I'm only 100 tons! This game is so unfair!"

We either need TDM or the bases scrapped from Assault. No one likes Mario Kart Warrior. If they weren't so horribly implemented in the larger maps, maybe it wouldn't be an issue, but as is, they're just awful. You can be winning a match then lose anyway simply because it takes too long to run back to the base. It also encourages teams to camp near the base rather then venture out to hunt and destroy or hold positions too far away.

I have to wonder why the most desired mode is the one they don't want to give their players. Take bases out of Assault. Let the capracers go to Conquest. Problem would be solved.

Ah, so piloting a D DC = don't know how to play. That's logic I'd expect from hammer.

Make scouting easier, give better relayed information to the individual player, make bases defensible.

Problem, largely, solved.

It is easy, typing/'r' is hard?, bases are easily defensible

Yes lets all sit around defending our bases and never move out of the square. Because thats so much fun.

Youre the exact epitome of the type of player im talking about whos too jaded to see that base assault is a flawed gamemode because it doesn't force either team to be aggressive, move out towards the center of the map, or even really fight over any kind of central objective.

A better game mode would be a single capture point in the exact center of the map.

Also, the minimap area is TINY, so you won't see the lighting unless you're right there or facing them. There is a little noise when someone does it, but it doesn't give you a heading.

And the base really is not easily defensible, it just comes down to who has the most firepower (but not PPCs or LRMs) and armor.

You mean a player with skill. THANKS! I know. It's like when my base is getting capped I go back and defend it for my team...and we win. Or, I go and cap the other teams base, either winning or bringing enough players back that my team rolls over them. Either way, I win a lot. But that;s because I don't derp around in a d-dc wondering why everyone just runs around me.

I do have to agree with that, though. Not a really good game mode.

Why? TDM is terrible. I'd just queue in my spider and find as many hidden places to hide and ruin the other teams fun.

I know PLENTY of good hiding places in desert that I don't think anyone would ever find me at.

You'd be getting loses for doing that, clever hammer, assuming they stick to obvious TDM rules, meaning the bigger team left auto-wins when the clock runs out. In fact they could make it so that if you hide, you don't even get rewards for the match. Proper game design would beat trolling.

Because clearly the person whose hiding for 15 mins is doing it for a win and not ******* off both teams.

Next you're going to tell me a 6 mg DD isn't going to win matches and so shouldn't be used for trolling.
