Proposed battle mode: King of the Hill

Battlefield: the more round/squarish maps, one central Capturable Base, located in center of map.

Time Limit: 30 minutes

Victory conditions: Team with most kills at the time limit OR first team with 5 minutes of uncontested capture time on the Base

Unique characteristics: Mechs respawn from random map edges once destroyed. Respawns are unlimited. Random spawn direction and location makes spawn camping nearly impossible, central capturable base guarantees that the action will consolidate and be hard fought, since complacent or spawn camp tactics will leave the capturable base uncontested.

dont know about a 30 min time limit or unlimited respawns..perhaps 15 with some limitation is in order, fixed number of respawns say a max of 4. representative of the 4 readied mechs in your bays then once killed you have respawn in a different mech. once you have used up the 4 mechs ya brought your done..


Also a possible tonnage limit on re-spawns perhaps. say each player get 200-300 tones they can drop with. atlas players will only get 2 or 3 drops while a raven player would get 9 ....or some combination thereof.

Time limit - 15 minutes, as usual. Yes to unlimited respawns, in the same mech. Team with most points wins, or first to reach 750 points (same as conquest). Points are awarded for holding the base capture uncontested, for example 1 point per second. Kills do not matter. Light mechs get a benefit of getting to the base faster. Heavies can survive longer. Looks pretty well balanced to me.

Voted no for respawns(+time limit, way too much) and conditions. It's a good idea I would try, but-

This is a simulator, no respawning. But it would be awesome as a dropship game where you have a line up of four or so different mechs.

In current modes even just two bases bring up tactical questions of where to go. In your proposed mode with only one base/objective it seems highly probable that almost every game would be won by one team killing the other. In which case, what makes it more king of the hill than deathmatch? If kills don't make the win then I think we'd have a super fun and quirky match.

take the respawn idea out and I think it would be great, full on combat for a single target that counts for either side
