And just because it says Beta, it pretty much is release already

I do believe that it was said there would be a stat wipe at some point after ELO was introduced, but I don't know if that's still necessary or even on the table anymore.
I'm sure someone will be along shortly with links and screen shots.
And not long after that, someone will be along saying that the kitten-punching playground straifers at PGI lie and that the doom of a wipe is nigh.

We will probably get a stat wipe at some point, but not skill points c-bills and mechs.
The only way they would wipe that information is if something catastrophic happened to the game, or some monumental changes or something. Also, if it did happen, im sure we would get 100% of our MC back. C-bills I don't know. Maybe a percentage of what we had earned up to that point, or all of it if they are nice.

dont let semantics fool you, theyre betting on you being reh-tarded
As soon as this game went public, it was release. Its just on part with a $5 indie game, so they call it beta. People are dumb, and labels will make all the world to them. For its place in the development cycle, its income process, and patching system, its a full release RIGHT NOW.

You can keep your skill-points (i.e. MechXP and GeneralXP) afaik...so you can sit in your 3l all day long if you want to

CapperDeluxe is correct. PGI has stated they have no plans or desire to reset any MC or XP after the project entered Open Beta.
Semantic arguments aside about what is a Beta and what is not, the Open Beta tag is informatively important. It lets individuals who have never visit the forums (the vast majority of accounts) know that the game is still very much in development and changes over and above a normal patched released game should be expected. As well as the fact the game has not reached an acceptable level of content and polish the developers feel a "release" candidate would warrant.
Cheers.

Full release? All features are implemented?
I'm sorry, which patch did I miss that's allowing you to play Community Warfare that I obviously don't have.

At this point, I consider the release of CW and other major updates the same as I would DLC or expansions for other games that aren't persistently in "beta" status while their players are actively paying to play/win. I fully support this game, but I'm over the "this is a beta" jedi-mind trick that's been pulled on us.

You've got a way with words, my friend.

The argument that this isn't BETA is correct, it's barely out of ALPHA, it's an open ALPHA. The argument that this is release quality is just fallacious.
Back in the days, before you could download a full game to "BETA test" in less time than it would take you to eat lunch, if you wanted to BETA test a product, it often cost you around $45 for the disc and shipping. So, paying to BETA test is neither new, nor a qualifier for making it a full release.

World of Warcraft and Battlefield 3 both constantly receive updates. Most of which are significantly more game changing than any patch MWO has ever received since it entered Alpha.
DLC and patches are extremely common.
Once you release a game to all with constant stats and you take everyones money, that is RELEASE.
At least, that is how 100% of all other games work. Which is why PGI carved out its own little semantics.

not very common, much smaller user pool to do that, and it still wasnt considered a public release
this game is in full fledged "accept your money and earn your constant" stats mode. Its now functioning like almost EVERY. SINGLE. OTHER. game out there. Post release content and patching.
You compared apples to oranges. How you beta tested an ACTUAL beta back in the day is not how today's games function, and it was actually a test.
To use your analogy, itd be like, back in the day, they all stuck the BETA box on the shelves for everyone to buy just like a normal game, with the final release to come a year or two later. Basically, buying an unfinished game.
PGI is following the normal, release and patch system that most games use today.
If this was truly BETA, its be how it was in closed beta, there would be stat wipes, and we wouldnt have access to 100% of the content. A lot of Betas today are like BF3 beta (test server load on 1 or 2 maps) or like Starcraft where it doesnt cost you anything/and or its special for people the key codes, and its constantly evolving the stats in anticipation of release to all.
