Here's quote from my teammate. I was playing my jager-s. I've got well over 100 games with heavy mechs and a positive win rate with them (>50%). Sure I don't know my elo, but I'm assuming its better than average. Now we know every weigth class has its own elo. This guy is playing his first game so his elo is the default one. Why is he on the same game with me? I'm assuming this is a bug so I'm reporting this as a bug report. Your elo matchmaking system seems to be slipping people through and not working as intented.

He said first match in a heavy, he did not say it was his first match ever. You don't get individual ELO for each mech class.

Also, ELO is matched according to the total as a team IIRC. So on average, the cumulative skill of all players on one team will match the other team.

Each weigth class has different elo. He is saying first game with a heavy mech. His "heavy mech" elo is that of a new player.

I don't think I've seen that mentioned before, do you know the thread or patch note that states there is a separate ELO for mech class? It wasn't in the Command Chair thread last I looked.

Edit: Scanning through the search results, finally found it.

In fact we do keep multiple ELO's for each player. For the moment at least it's based off the properties of the mech you're dropping with, rather than your teams structure.

The ELO ratings themselves are very unbiased, it's concerned only with your probability of winning based on your past history, and is recalculated based on the result of every game you play. The new matchmaker however cares about more than just ELO. It's examining mech weight classes like the old system did; game mode preferences, how long you've been waiting for a match, your ELO, and a few other factors to try and create balanced teams. We'll still be tweaking this whole system even after it's been launched to improve it even further.

That said, there are a lot more factors than just ELO in matchmaking, and it's difficult to say it's bugged if we can't see all the players' ELO.

Another point, your teammate will be matched against the opposing team. Maybe your ELO does not contribute to the above situation more than your opponents'? Could possibly be the other team have an average-rated Heavy mech player or something as well.

I get a lot of horrid matches.

But I think it's because I shot Bryan Ekman.

ELO match making is in it self a failure, the only way to improve your skill is to fight better palyers and /or Watch them play. In the end all ELO dose is to average player ELO and MM is back to same balance as without.

Since ELO my win/lose streak and my K/d have plummeted. I totally and utterly HATE ELO rating. Playing this game now feels like hard labour. It's lose after lose after lose. It's become so bad that I'm not enjoying this game any more. Sure I like a good opponent but not this.

Now I'm in the lower 3 places most of the time. I really hope I can enjoy this game in the near future, but I doubt it. I just played 3 matches, lost 2 and was near the bottom of the list.

Playing this way is stressing me out. After the last matches I'm all annoyed, and believe me that makes me sad. I had such high hopes for this game too.

LOL haven't even used my Founder's time, not going to now. Not playing any more ;)

Or atleast that's what I want, but this game is like coffee, not like I can stay away from it for too long

Oh, how I know that feeling, Kuro....

I used to be always in the top3, at least one kill every 2 matches (in a medium), easily doing 400 damage. When in a 3L, at least 500 damage and 3 kills.... although I commend on the Lagshield fix and the hitbox tweak, of course, we really needed them.

Now? Can barely do 100 damage, and often at the low3. Sure I also took a 2 months long break, but... I am not the only one. Several veterans I know since CB also noticed a drastic efficiency drop. But then it can be because we used to always only match against weak players before ELO right? Right? *sigh*

Then what explains the "fact" that, more often than not, the teams are visibly not balanced? Why is it that one team barely know how to move around, and the other works together as if composed of 8 veteran players? Over and over again? Not whining about losing, as I've been in both sides, but the difference is too noticeable to be just a coincidence.

MM may need a strong hammering to put it to the right place.
