So tuesday night I get home ready to play and try ti launch the game. It dies before launching the patcher. I also notice the webpage appears to be down. So I futz around for a while then end up heading to bed early. The next day, imagine my surprise when I dont see anything on the forums about the downtime while im browsing around at work. I get home, and guess what, everything appears to be down again. So now im a little suspicious. So I check the browser on my phone and sure enough, the website appears down. I then, even more suspicious, turn off the wifi on my phone and connect over the wireless service. Boom, instant connection.

I connect my computer directly to the cable modem and I can connect to the game and website again.

So my question to you all. I cant find a setting on my router, the lynksys E3000 that has changed or that I could toggle off or on that would make a difference in connectivity.

Anyone have ideas?

Thanks for your time.

Power down the router for a few minutes then power it back up.

If you did not perform any special setups on it, manually reset the router back to default and change the password, particularly since the wireless is up and running. And hopefully for the wireless it is also secure by using WAP or greater. If you have an open wireless connection and default password, anyone can alter the settings.

If you are need of assistance on performing some of the items above, let us know.

Tried both of those,
MWO patcher, and mwomercs.com still blocked.
everywhere else on the internet is open, played a few other MMOs. No issues.

frustrating.

On the router, are the restrictions enabled on when you can play?

Have you disabled the SPI firewall? This does not disable the NAT, only the secondary firewall.

Security Tab, select Disable on the SPI(stateful packet inspection) Firewall Protection

Edited

More questions. Are you connecting the computer directly to the router with cord or are you using wireless?

When I connect via cord and bypass the router, I have no issues. I have not tried to connect via cord to the router. When I go wireless, it will not connect to MWO. it will connect to everything else on the net. I tried disabling the SPI firewall. Unfortunately it didnt make a difference. There is also no restrictions on the security tab.
Thanks for your time.

Connect to the router with the cord.

Now on the wireless, it is not only the computer/MWO but also your phone, which was using the wireless connection on the router, correct?

Also, is the router provided by your ISP or did you purchase it separately?

Edited After doing the following, the wireless encryption, passwords will need to be redone for each device connecting via wireless.

Posted Image Reset - There are two (2) ways to reset the router to its factory defaults. You can either press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds, or restore the defaults from the Administration > Factory Defaults page on the router's web-based setup page. SO, I finally found a solution in case anyone runs into this problem. "The correct answer to this problem is as follows:
1. You must go into your router.
2. Enter the setup section.
3. Select MAC address.
4. Select user defined.
5. Change a few numbers and letters in the MAC address.
6. Save settings and reboot your computer and reset your MODEM.

This problem occurs when viewing the same site over a router from more that one computer or application at the same time for a period of time. This activates something in the server software that puts your IP address on a so called "BAND LIST". Your web hosting company will not be able to correct it because they don't know what is going on because they can see that it is working fine from their point of view.
Most common response is: Replace your router.
It works for them... But it is not the correct answer and it costs money to do so.

More Info:
If you check your IP address with and without your router, you will see that it is different. The MAC address on your router is different from the one on your modem. The MAC address helps define what your IP address is. If you are on an "IP Band List", you must change your IP. This is only possible through changing the MAC address on the router or calling you ISP, if you are not using a router."

About the BAND (or is it banned?), which server would you be referring to? From the sound of it are you referring to your ISP. If so, who is your ISP as this may be helpful to others and makes it easier to search for.
