Reference Build:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...e98c620a6b3f646

I promised this one oh... three months ago? Yeah better late than never. It's an older mech but with the current meta it fits in well to punish snipers up close. As always feedback is appreciated and if you would like to see more builds and other videos make sure to subscribe to me on youtube!

Disclaimer: A couple of the clips are old but nothing significant has changed with this mech to invalidate the footage.

This is what I run except that I use a 340XL.
It's 5kph slower, but I get an extra ton of Gauss ammo and 12 DHS.
The extra 10 Gauss shots lets me be a bit more liberal in my use of the Gauss Rifle, and the extra DHS really help out when things get hairy on hot maps like Caustic and Termaline (sp?).

Yeah heat can be an issue on some of the hotter maps but this mech isn't really indended for standing engagements but for hit and run. Also chain firing the lasers as I do in the video helps mitigate much of that issue.

Oops, my build has 13 DHS not 12.

Anyway, I hate chain firing, ESPECIALLY for hit and run mechs.
A MLAS already makes you face the target and keep your aim for 1 second... Chainfiring just takes too long to deliver the damage and leaves you vulnerable the whole time.

I still have my right and left arm MLAS in two groups in case I am close to overheating, or need to fire around obstacles or friendly mechs, but most of the time I prefer the 20 damage alpha.

I think (fast) Dragons work very well on the larger maps. Especially with the cap accelerator module.

Watched your video... That's not hitting and running. You are definitely brawling. :)

I've never found that chaining made a difference in power simply because the duration effect and the speed at which you're moving make it almost impossible to keep a constant beam up anyway. Especially when you're bouncing around a hill or rocks.

Very true! Plus it's a great way to punish the current trend to slow snipers.

Well I do admit to indulging in some selective editing to ensure that the footage is entertaining. I have a video that shows more of the hit & run style of play here:

huh I'm a bit intrigued by this build. I personally use 2 ERPPCs and a SRM 6 for backup instead of that setup. Mostly guerrilla sniping though.

That sounds like fun! PPC's do well right now. Have you tried the same loadout on the 1C? The ballistics and energy swap locations so your PPC's will fire from your shoulder instead of your arm.

4x Large Lasers
17 DHS
315xl
FLAME

I've always found it's worked pretty decently for me.

Cool - I've seen people have a lot of success with 4 LL Flame's. So it works well for you? If I were to run one I would probably drop the engine down to an XL 300 in order to be able to cap out at 19 DHS while still doing 81kph. Not as fast as I would like a Dragon to get but still quick on its feet. Something like this: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...03063a6dfd40e18

Excellent design and style. Mine is almost identical, pulling the engine down to a 350xl and shaving a bit of leg armor (34 each leg... feels a little scary at first, but I've NEVER been legged. CT is too tempting I suppose) to get 13 DHS.

I tried running it with 11 previously to get an extra ton of ammo and some more armor, but the heat was getting to me. with 13 sinks I can basically ignore heat as a factor, which really helped my versatility.

*edit* Wow, didn't realize I basically necroed this one... Just love the Flame I suppose :)
