MWO crashed in the middle of a game. Each time I try to start it I instantly get a MS Windos pop up that says - "Mechwarrior online has stopped working". It looks for solution for 10 seconds, then says "close program".

Several restarts of computer haven't helped, clearing cache, running CCleaner, no joy.

Any sugestions?

Since you were playing before, it is assumed that your rig meets the necessary specs. You might want to do a quick check to see if any components e.g. graphic card, memory has developed faults.

If everything looks OK h/ware wise:-

Make a second copy of the MWO folder as a backup.

Uninstall, run CCCleaner and clean the registry. Restart and reinstall. Terminate the patching once basic install is done, copy over the old backed up folder. Test.

If unsuccessful, uninstall, run CCleaner, reinstall and patch files from the server.

If unsuccessful, contact support@mwomercs.com.

The repair tool is now in the patcher. In the top right hand corner there is a cog. Click on that, right above the 32/64 Bit verions, click on "Run repair tool".

I have an interesting issue with the repair tool that Im wondering if anyone else is seeing.

Running the MWO.exe as admin already. 64-bit client. The launcher won't trigger when MechwarriorOnline.exe is activated.

I need to run repair tool, from the directory, each time before the launcher actually activates.
Repair scan consistently returns the following;

With the current options, clicking 'Fix' below will:
-Resolve any mismatched (invalid) files.
-Remove unneeded local files (if any were found).
-Clean shaders
-Clean local cache of FE data (fresh data will download the next time the game is run).

I "fix" the errors, and launcher is operational upon next attempt. If I were to reboot the my rig for any reason, in order to play again I'd have to repeat the process.

So if no file errors are being detected, but something is being repaired and cleaned in Shaders and FE Textures, what is the repair tool actually repairing and why would that error cause the WMO.exe from not firing when activated?

Im not sure what is going on with the other stuff, but cleaning the shaders and things is normal.
It hasnt detected a problem, it just flushes those folders out in case they are messed up tidys up to minimize chances of troublemakers, the files in there will rebuild when the game is running.

Game worked fine. Ran the repair tool as advised. Now the game won't launch at all. The splash screen doesn't even show up.

I am having the same exact issue. I'ts been happening for a few weeks now, and to "fix" it I just ran the repair tool, but it keeps on coming back at random.

I've tried uninstalling the game and now it won't even install. I get an md5 hash mismatch about 1/5 of the way through the "DOWNLOADING INSTALL BASE" part of the installer. Everything worked fine until just recently. I've used the repair tool in the past with no issues. Something has changed that isn't functioning properly with my machine. Frustrating.

My launcher will not launch. I run the short cut to MechWarrior Online as admin and get the spinning circle then nothing. I have run the repair tool and after doing what it does to fix, still nothing. Any suggestions other than a re-install? This game was working fine yesterday and no changes on my system since then.

Same here, won't launch. Have to repair everytime and in my case, judging by the gigabytes it's downloading and patching, that constitutes the whole effing game. No taking part in the great battle this WE for me then

Losing my premium time over this is not appreciated

You should provide a download link to most recent version because when the repair tool run, it cannot update itself (and I believe you disabled mismatch checking for it anyway to avoid problems).

When I tried starting MWO today, there was an error as soon as I clicked the icon so I was not able to see the panel with PATCH button. So I ran the repair tool and many files were updated but not the repair tool. Now when I start MWO I'm not prompted to patch but the repair tool is still at version 1.2.4 so it won't update until I patch again in 2 weeks.

Someone running repair tool all the time without using the patch button will never get the latest version of the repair tool.
