Hope you guys enjoy the stream. KaoS Legion will be doing a weekly patch note review and a tier list of mechs (shout out to fellow Canadian Elementz - who started the tier list on his website reignofgaming.net).

http://www.twitch.tv...avrck/c/2253622

Will update this thread with the latest tier list according to KaoS Legion.

Any questions and comments, please post here or on our website killsecured.com -- we take questions and are happy (usually ;) ) to answer questions from the community.

Thanks!

MavRCK

PS: Thank you PGI for putting in Death from Above -- ;) Higherlander - Jenner pancake -- check!

As a fighting game fan, I love the idea of a tier list.

My ranking for solo-play would look something like:

A
Highlander 732/732C
Stalker 3F
Cataphract 3D
Jenner F

B
Atlas DDC
Highlander 733-P
Cent 9A
Raven 3L

B-

Atlas RS
Stalker 5M
Jager DD
Trebuchet 7M/5J

C
Cicada 3M
Centurion 9D
K2
Hunchback 4SP

I like it, and I agree with the order you've chosen. Players dropping in 8's should REALLY consider this list. If your 'Mech isn't high up on the list, you've sabotaged your team before the match has even started!

I'm anxious to see where you end up rating the Misery. I like the idea of the ballistic hard point on the Stalker, and I have the MC waiting to buy it, but it needs to be at least somewhat justifiable. I murdered two Misery's in one round with my Ilya just a minute ago. Probably just bad pilots, but I wouldn't want to risk buying a giant 'Death's Knell.' Hehe.

I would mostly agree although I think JennerF can carry harder then mediums, esp hunchback.

IMO:

Raven 3Ls still OP because streaks are stupid, skill-less and OP.

I agree, the Cicada 3M is the best medium.

Flame is way higher than listed and better than all Jagers if played right.

Not sure about assault but the JJs to give extra turning ability are the bane of all mechs trying to out-maneuver a highlander (the Heavy Metal being most dangerous IMO).

Raven 3L's are fish food to Jenner F pilots who actually know what they are doing.

Great discussion - keep it up.. all this input will help next week's tier list.

A reminder, the list is for competitive play, essentially 2-2-2-2 assault tournament which strives for a balanced play.

SoloQ is assault - conquest -- what mech can turn the tide for your team and win the game... no holds bar.

Notice how most of the 'broken' mechs are rated at the top. I mean its no suprise ofc, but still ..pathetic. Will be glad once proper balance is put in.. and if it isnt ..well so much for a competative mech game ;)

This Mech Tier List is like the League of Legends Tier List - it's a guide for players to see what are the relative strengths of one mech versus another. There will always be mechs that are most capable, stronger or 'broken'. I think players need to accept this.

This list is designed ultimately to be a resource for new players to pick and choose their mechs appropriately - to help people spend their MC and Cbills wisely; to guide the community as a whole in a positive direction.

I appreciate the intent for the list, but 'broken' mechs shouldnt exist, its a matter of balance. And encouragng people to use said broken mechs becouse they perform so well is IMO a bad thing.
Perhaps im a stickler for morality, but i would never use a 'broken' setup and/or mech, it ruins the fun. How can one feel good about themselves knowing they only beat som1 becouse they are using somthing thats 'broken'. I understand ofc there will be many that dont see certain things as broken, and thats just down to their own narrow view and/or morality BUT the point still stands... it should not be encouraged.

Its like encouraging people to grab a Highlander and poptart with 2/3 PPC's and a guass. yes its very effective ..but its sooo broken. I dont get how all the people currently using them can do it without feeling like a complete a*shat.

Umm... So you think professional video gamers who play league of legends should be bound by your interpretation of morality and choose champions who aren't competitive?

Better isn't the same thing as broken.

Your idea of fun isn't the same idea of my idea of fun.

Games are a form of competition... for instance, if we were allow to compete in the Olympics in the 100m dash, Usain Bolt would probably not find us competitive; he would probably be considered to be "broken" by your set of morale rules in comparison to you or I; and moreover, I doubt Usain Bolt would find it "fun" completely running us off our feet.

:)

Let's focus on discussion of the mechs, not whether or not there should be a hierarchy of good / bad mechs. There is. Get over it. Just like cars and super-heroes, there always will be.

Next tier list will be 14/05/12: I will explain the tier list, its relevance in detail, give suggestions for the first mech to buy with your cadet bonus, and beginning discussing the light mech chassis, starting with the commandos.

Pretty sad that, with so many variants, so few of them are extremely non-viable.
