Simple:

PGI feels that their solution is the best one for MWO while a lot of players feel that it will be ineffective, hard to work into the game and confusing for new players.

Many players feel that if dissipation were raised to compensate the lowered threshold it would be a very good start on solving a lot of the problems MWO currently faces, such as pinpoint Alpha damage being the ruling meta for so long.

This petition is simply to gauge numbers on the amount of players who would like to see a test of heat threshold lowered and the heat dissipation raised.

At this stage, this could be done simply and no penalties for heat need to be added yet. If players feel this is successful in principle after a week or two of play, then penalties for overheating and running very hot could be considered. If it turns out to be a disaster well, this is a Beta test and it's exactly what this is for.

To lay out my points:

• PGI to hold off on their 'stacking' penalties for a bit
  
• Test lowered cap/higher dissipation for two weeks
  
• No heat penalties for the test period
  
• No changes to current weapon stats
  
• Proceed from there
