JVN-10N Javelin
5th Crucis Lancers RCT: Remagen Lancers
Federated Suns
http://camospecs.com/Unit.asp?ID=163

Description

The Javelin was first built in 2751. The 'Mech quickly gained a reputation as a sturdy and reliable scout 'Mech. Though the original factories that produced the Javelin are gone, the Federated Suns began producing the venerable 'Mech once more at Jalastar Aerospace in 3055. The Javelin weighs in at 30 tons but it has the maneuverability of lighter 'Mechs with a jumping distance of up to 180 meters. The Javelin does pay for this in the armor protection on its chassis, in some areas carrying armor weaker than the structure beneath. This drawback to the design does hamper it in pitched battle as the 'Mech cannot stand up to any degree of fire from a 'Mech heavier than it.
Armament

The Javelin carries a limited weapons array with two Arrowlite SRM-6 launchers and no backup weapons. This makes the Javelin highly reliant on good supply lines and can hamper the 'Mech if it is forced into guerilla combat. As a close support 'Mech, it is highly adept at swooping in and helping deliver the final blow, especially as its scattering missiles can exploit and cripple exposed systems. Notably, the Arrowlite's and their two tons of ammo are placed so far forward in the 'Mech's torso that the Javenlin has a front-heavy center of gravity, with MechWarriors unfamiliar with the design's forward-lean while running often prone to falls while moving at high speeds in difficult terrain.

usually, I might comment on the legs seemingly being over-large. But slight exaggeration is part of what gives your work it's kick-butt Anime meets Western Mechs feel. Cool work as usual. You and Spooky and Ironhawk have me feeling like a loser for having nothing to post.

Thanks!

Yeah to be honest on the legs, I kinda Gundamize it a bit XD.

You are not a loser, it only means you have more life than me. XD

The Javalin's legs (like so many of the 3025 designs) were in need of some bulk, but those look like they belong on something half again as heavy. Really cannot resist saying it looks like it does track and field. Otherwise it looks great. Less tin man and more combat machine. Actually might make good light 'Mech after the Flea comes out... or just a better Commando.

Not sure about the exact sizes of the mechs, I used to think the atlas was as tall as 17 meters, but according to some, its not more than 15.

Anyways, I post this scale to show that sometimes the mechs I draw seem to have disproportionate scaling (big legs for example), but when scaled in comparison to other mechs, they look, at least to me, more or less in proper scale.

Again, I totally pulled the mechs height here from my back side, i have zero idea what their official heights are. If anyone knows for certain, please correct me. Thanks!

P.S. height is in meters.

Hey Sommer, according to CGL, the TALLEST mech is only 14 meters. And the Atlas is not even the tallest, because it is very squat in design, so is probably closer to 12 meters.

yeah, original scale is 8208 x 1965, but the image hosting site wont accept any image bigger than 5mb, I use postimage.org.

Cool, you noticed the lack of the Assassin and Grasshopper. Didn't include them here cuz i havn't refined them to the same quality as the newer mechs i've done. Notice the Axman kinda has the blur effect, the Assassin and the grasshopper has that too but worse, unless i decide to repaint them. Maybe someday. :(

you know what, i think ill do that Assassin tonight.

why not upload it to Deviant art (with watermark)? No file size limit there, I think? (Spooky has loaded some MONSTERS on there).

Regardless, be curious to see the final product on the Assassin.

If you ever wanna mod and paint some other stuff liek you did with Sneaky Bs, gimme a holler. I think I got some good line art ideas, but I stink at color.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

And Bishop, i'd love to do that, was even thinking of coloring the original TRO mechs, especially the official clan designs since they are already awesome as it is IMO.

Shoot me an email! Cant promise you how soon i can work on it though, will be busy in the next couple of days.

Very nice Sommer.

Lotsa us Davs in 3025 had the 10F. Had lotsa fun killing off CapCon and Drac Urbies.

Would make a fantastic addition to the game, instead of the Spider.

They could have the 10F, the 10N and say the 11B (2x SRM4 with BAP and ECM).

That would be nice. Then they could chuck in the 11A (Fire Javelin) as a hero mech with its 7 Mediums and DHS.

nah, whom I kidding, would be just another PPC Poptart, forget I said anything :)
