WARNING: Certain side effects have been recorded in those who have joined this group, including but not limited to: increased kill counts, optimized mech designs, development of tactical awareness, increased joke intake and outflow during matches, better fashion sense, promotions at work, and success with the ladies*.

* Healthy bromance is not listed as a possible side effect as it is an intended result of the product, and has been observed in 100% of clinical trials.

The work promotions and success with ladies parts are actually quite true!

I know FASA screwed up the umlauts pretty badly from time to time (even though they surprisingly enough got the spelling right occasionally). I guess you could always make up some lore based excuse like saying it's some form of Swedenese or whatever, but the correct way to spell regiment in Swedish is "regemente". No umlaut.

Same goes for Drakøns. Don't even know what that is. Is it supposed to be dragons or dragoons? Dragons is "drakar" and dragoons is "dragoner".

/End rant

Out of curiousity, how many actual norwegians, swedes and danes have you got?

And before you try, save your fingers. I am not looking for a new clan/player community, I have quite enough already. :P

We have one Swede for sure!
Actually, he hasn't corrected us as much as I had imagined. Our aesthetic umlaut doesn't bother him, and the rest of our attempted Swedenese seems to amuse him. He's very forgiving, knowing that he speaks English better than the rest of us speak Swedish, Finnish, Icelandic, etc.

Also, I had assumed "Drakøns" meant "dragoons", regardless of whether that was correct in any Nordic language.

Heh, yeah, it is amusing to see quasi versions of a language. There is no rulebook on these things anyway since it's a fictive future but still.

The word "Drakøns" has no basis in scandinavian language roots that I am familiar with, only the "Drak" part is accurate but we would have "Drake" or definitive form, "Draken". Funnily enough it means both a dragon and a kite in modern tongue. I am not a linguist per se but have some courses from University.

We digress. Good luck on recruiting, always happy to see communities grow. I have enough with three clans (multiple games), several communities and the large tech homepage forums (signature) I oversee. There is nothing more fun then teamwork and playing with a group of likeminded.

As Liquid said, we range from around 21/22 up to somewhere in the 40s. Most of our guys are long time Btech fans or die-hard newfound fans. I'm doing my best to make them all as grognardy as me anyways. You should throw in an app just to try us out!

I assume you mean ladies outside of the forum...
Do we actually have any ladies in our group?
Not that I'd mind if we did...

Seeing this thread I thought i'd post this.

I started to play MWO around the beginning of the year. I was totally new to this game as well as PC gaming in general. I spent a week playing a few pug matches trying to learn the game. It was slow and I wasn't doing well. I was having a hard time with the game and it just wasn't fun for me. I started to look at the forums and see if I could find a group to play with before quit the game entirely. I spent another day or two looking with no success.

As a new fan to Btech lore (just over a year of reading and knowing about it) I decide to look in the FRR section to see what I could find since the FRR was new and interesting to me. I found a post about getting together a council of FRR unit leaders together. I started to read it and liked what I saw. I decided I wanted to know more about the unit the OP of the thread was leading so I pm'ed him. After a few post back and forth between us and his help with showing me a few sites to fill my lust for more lore I sent in my application to his unit. From the way it was described and from what I saw in there forum it really close to what I like to see in a group. They helped me overcome my newness to the game and learn about the builds and other features in the game that I wouldn't have learned or would have taken a long time to learn by myself. They made the game gun for me and this is why I still play it today.

I've been apart of this group since then and have come to enjoy the entire time. This is one of the only three groups/communities of players that i've decide to stay with and the only ones I will be apart of in the future because they made playing the game and being apart of the group enjoyable. The 1stRDR is a amazing unit to be in. There is a lot of camaraderie between the older members and the newer members, and I don't have any regrets about joining.

Are you guys still recruiting? I've sent an application, but have not received an answer. I hope you have room for one more. Don't make me join a Kurita group.

Our big cheese in on vacation/AFK for a while, but I think we have someone else I can poke in the eye to get him to approve your application.

Edit: Surtr said he'll be back this evening...Which is probably early morning for you. :)

TT game player from waaaay back in the day here. Just started playing MWO and love it! FRR interests me so I added it as my faction. I've visited Sweden before! This group sounds good. I'll submit an app. What voice chat do you guys use?

I don't recognize your name, Alistair, but I'll double check the applications. I'm sure our resident Swede would appreciate another Einherjar in his timezone to drop with!
