Please choose the answer that best reflects how you came to be a part of the MWO community. Please be sure to post something when you vote to keep the poll from getting buried...thanks!

I said "Other", because I've never played TT nor read a BT novel, but I have played every Mechwarrior title for the PC.

It might be splitting hairs, I don't mean to be pendantic here.

Changed my vote to No. 2 after update of poll.

I'm looking forward to MW:O being "Not My Dads Mechwarrior", even though they were all mine :)

The MW PC titles are based on BattleTech, therefore you are free to select option #2. I made it BattleTech/MechWarrior to further clarify.

I've been waiting for a game like this, since EA shut down MPBT:3025.

After 10 years of watching for some new MechWarrior game we were discussing the possibilities of an EVE-like MechWarrior MMO on the Dropship Command forum. I would go back and check periodically what others were saying and in the Fall a post showed up about MWO's cryptic twitter feed, people saying, 'this looks like the real deal'. So I watched as the page de-crypted day by day into what looked like parts of an Atlas. Finally MWO was revealed with a call to register your Callsign. And I did.

It all began with that very first trailer showing the main event: Warhammer vs Atlas.
The rest is history =)

That game may still be made given enough time.

I played MechCommander and watched the cartoon when I was a kid. But it was a comment on Reddit that brought me over here.

Read about it on another Forum. And since I have always been someoen runnign after a lot of things mech-related (Heavy Gear, tons of Mecha Anime etc.) I looked into it.

Then I remembered that I had palyed MW 4:Vengeance when I was much smaller and kept an eye on it. At the beginning of May I then came back to find much more information regarding the game and was hooked up at once by the different warfare concepts.
After that I started reading up on important BT canon stuff related to MWO, although there is still tons to go through. I also downloaded MW4:Mercs by Mektek and am palying through it as my second run ( Finished first as rogue and then as Steiner just for the heck of it. Now I'm going for Davion).
But at least I have a small glimpse of what everything is about.

Edit:
*******, I really need to watch my writing. Damn typos.

Isn't that the real reason we all play? ;)

I was reading about the Razer Artemis on Rock, Paper, Shotgun and I was wondering what it was about. So I investigated the similar articles, and noticed that it was based on the same Universe as the MechAssault games. Being younger I played the hell out of these games! So I had to sign up, and Since then I just stood on the page F5'ing and Checking my E-Mail more than ever before!

F5'ing is my new Full Time thing. It's taken over my LoL, DoTA2 and DayZ Habits.

I've been a fan more or less of battletech for many years. I heard about MWO and I couldn't resist. I want to play this more than anything right now.

I played MechWarrior 4 when I was a youngin' and I never forgot that feeling of being a 'Mech pilot'. I was something like 13 at the time I first started playing, it was probably my first real '3D' computer game. I joined a clan and played mostly with adults (ages 18-50) and we all had a blast. Now I am 24 with a computer science degree and a lot more life experience, and if I could transport my brain as it is now into my 13 year old self in the past, I would probably still play the game with the same wide-eyed amazement and glee.

I joined the MWO community because the wait for this game has been unbearable to me, and because I want to rage at PGI for not including me in the BETA so far , but of course my better judgement won out and I decided to be civil and chat with you guys instead ;). Thanks for the nostalgia.

I was reading about MWO and Tactics (the strategy one). Got the two mixed up. Once I realized MWO was... Mechwarrior, and not a Mechcommander-like title, I jumped on board.
