The DT4 Duelist!

This is a mech I made referencing a number of battlemechs and concept art. My biggest inspirations were the Quickdraw and the Trebuchet, with a special mention to Sommer Strauss's Flashman http://mwomercs.com/...-hv-1-flashman/ for inspiring the arms.

One of my main regrets about the Centurion model I made was that it was not able to stand up in real life. I built this mech with that goal it line and created a very strong structure for this mech. All the leg joints can move and be held in place and the shoulder and lower arm joints are able to lock in place at 90 degree angles.

I figure it would be about 75 tons with a ballistic slot in each arm, two small missile slots in the left and right torso, and two energy slots in the centre torso.

Feel like some sort of {Noble MechWarrior} now, but your work is really impressive!

Keep it up!

It looks like a Devastator. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Devastator
The torso and arm actuators are what are really similar. Along with a similar shaped cockpit.

That's quite interesting, I hadn't realized. I guess when you make a mech based on a combination on concept art styles, it's bound to have similarities around.

Dang, that looks good.
I've only ever made mini-models with the bricks, myself, but it isn't always easy to put enough detail in without changing the scale. (That and I simply don't have all the techniques mastered for advanced building)

That is a pretty impressive piece of work.
How stable of a design is it, in terms of a physical model?

That's just the thing. If it were standing, feet flat on the ground, it would be able to stand no problem. The legs could even be bent. And unlike the Centurion model, the arms wouldn't make the shoulders sag because they are secured by three axles, rather than one.

Hey Dak,

That looks great. I haven't had time to go back and work on the centurion I put together (mostly because I've been playing the game I guess.)

Can you link to the build instructions for this? I'd like to see how you worked the arms to I can try to retrofit that on the centurion.

Once again nice work!

Here it is. I used a small turntable that had a square hole through the middle. Judging by how it looks, if a square piece was shoved through it, it would be locked in place. however, that means it can only lock on 90 degree angles.
