I know it has been discussed a few times before, but I've not been able to find out if this will be included in the game. If I've missed it in the jungle of stickies and faqs, please let me know.

I would love to have some kind of firing range as well as a practice arena to learn to move the mech.

I would like to do my first jumpjet-jumps without anyone looking and laughing when I fall off a cliff

the firing range could be simple: flat stationary targets, or cardboard targets moving on rails (like the tank firing range close to where I live in real life). Just to get a feel of the weapons, reload times, heat management etc.

In addition to being more forgiving for new players, I think it would add more "realism" or at least immersion, especially if a voice actor could tell me some tips and tricks while practicing.

some kind of ZERO XP/repair/ammo cost game mode would be good ... you get your mates together ... go and test things out

It's not just about practice, but also testing out weapon loadouts before going toe-to-toe with an ill-tempered assault mech.

Well maybe there needs to be a training server with a No Loss/No Gain game mode.

It would be realy nice to have a single player training area, just for the aforementioned reasons. Hope one gets included!

This would be really good, and certainly has had its counterparts before. I would prefer some testing area for messing about with things. Particularly learning to aim my movements with Jump jets.

Agree. Giving that this game is a F@P, there WILL be newbs that don't know how to pilot a mech. And it's a good idea to put in a training mode (like the one in MW4 and MW4 merc) and explain all the basics (mech movement, weapon control, heat management, etc.).

I like the way it is solved in Tribes:ascend: You get sarver with some bots that do nothing more than running/ jumping in one particular way. As it is a skill based game, like MW, It really helps beginners.

I'm still hoping they put an in-game simulator you can climb into, so that you can try out ANY mech with almost ANY loadout, just to see if it'll work well or not before you spend eighty gazillion C-bills on a mech that just doesn't work.
