Could someone dig around the game files for the pictures/models of other Victors? They are almost certainly there (like the HGN was). I would do it myself but I don't know how.

The variants we'll get besides the standard 9B are 9K (gauss instead of AC/20, ES and pulse lasers) and 9S (SRM6 instead of SRM4).

The 9K has a ballistic in RA, 2 missile slots in LT and 3 energy slots in the LA.

9B has 3 ballistic slots in RA, 2 missile slots in LT and 2 energy slots in LA.

Lastly, 9S has 2 ballistics in RA, 3 missile slots in LT and 2 energy slots in LA.

Dangit!
My hopes for an assault with more than 1 section capable of mounting ballistics are crushed yet again.

Looks good and can't wait. All three seem like they will be able to have a very viable and competitive build. I just hope that it performs well otherwise as the Victor should be fast and agile (for an 80 ton mech) with great JJ performance unlike the slow lumbering, can barely climb into the air situation with the Highlander. It should be kind of like the Quickdraw of Assaults with characteristics closer to a heavy.

victor is quite big for an 80 tonner.. but at least its not going into another weight class this time.

So that means no dual Gauss + dual PPC. :)

Is that ripped directly from the game files? Because it flies against what they have done with similar translations in the past. It will be VERY disappointing if they do that.

I'm bored...so time to play with loadouts! Of the AC20 carriers, I think it's safe to say that the 9S is straight up better than the 9B. Trades a 3rd ballistic HP for a 3rd missile HP and its missiles have 6 tubes instead of 4. Everything else is identical. So unless you want a 3 small AC build, the 9B can do nothing the 9S can't do better.

So first things first: hardpoints are those of a DDC so let's make the baseline comparison:

Fast, Brawler DDC: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...067cd9526480472 (Adv: ECM, Armor, no XL)

Fast, Brawler Victor: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6039cebe8b7bd4d (Adv: Smaller profile(?), speed)

This build, of course, doesn't use the JJ that could give it more of an advantage. This would be my starting point though. Where do you guys think it should go from there?

Instead no one will suffer the dragonslayer at all as it joins the pretty baby in terrible hardpoint hell.

Oh MWO Forums how you amuse me. Each new mech that comes out gets one of two responses (actually, sometimes both) either it is A) possible to abuse and is called OMFGP2WOPOP FOTM NERF!!!! or B ) there is less chance for abuse and it is OMG totally weaksauce P2LOSE!!!!

Seriously folks, take it easy.

Well, at least since they're all now up on Smurfy I put together some possible builds.
Note that some of these assume incoming SRM buffs/PPC nerfs.
9B
9K
9S
Dragon Slayer

From fooling around they look both highly mobile and fairly cool running, plus some serious brawler potential once that comes back in fashion.

[edit] Fixed hotlink for the 9K

Plus, the hardpoints are spread better than the Highlander.

That and the extra speed make the Victor look very good to me compared to my Heavy Metal
Seriously, I had so much tonnage left over I upgraded one of my 3 MLs on the arm to a LPL... Spending 6 tons for what's effectively a 4th ML.

FTFY, though I doubt I'd fear an 80tonner with only 40% heat efficiency and only 30pt alpha, regardless of speed/mobility and range.

That much easier to kill you once you underestimate me.
