I want to discuss the posibility for a shake of the crosshair when the mech is moving in this topic. By activated JJ the crosshair moves randomly. This could also work for the mech movent. If the mech stands still, you have no shake. But if you walk or either run the shake got stronger with the speed. This is a implementation of the BT Rules, that i would support. So it is more like a simulation for me and makes this game more interesting. You can decrease the shake with pilot skills or modules.

This is only an idea. How do you think of the idea?

Sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes. :-)

I wish there was just the tiniest amount of bob (both the reticle and view), but nothing random. Movement penalties to accuracy are bad for this game. Very bad.

In TT the penalty was +2 for running and +3 for jumping so I support this suggestion.

I think, if you stand still you are also an easier target for other player. So this would equal the problems.

I support this idea.

and Homeless Bill:
those who already don´t understand how to really play this game(those camping [REDACTED])well, let them camp, in the time they try to get into pisition,we cap them.

to clarify Drakes idea: I think he meant more a rhythmic shake than the random one used for JJs.

Good idea that makes sense and is easy to implement. Keep em coming.

+1 to the bob and sway movement over random

Please don't request a random shake. If jump jets are anything to go by, they might just do it.

Bob and sway, yeah, sure. Random shake? Hell no.

Perhaps a combination of both.

The point being that a heavy mech thudding on the ground repeatedly at high speed should make it difficult to aim. Having only a rhythmic "bob" is not really that big a deal at all. For this to be worth anything at all shake must be included as speed increases.

Even a human with all it's soft squishy, flexible parts, and nice low weight would experience shake like hell (oh yes that random kind you're all so afraid of) when running at full speed and trying to fire a gun. If you could look through the barrel's view it wouldn't be no smooth bob and weave going on that's for sure. So take away all those nice squishy flexible parts and replace with tons of solid metal and shock absorbers and how smooth do you think that's going to be?? Seriously...

Come on people get at least a little bit real about this huh? If you are running at 60-150Kmph in chunk of metal you aren't going to be making anything like an accurate shot and that is the penalty you pay for that movement. You want to snipe? Then stand still! The lighter the mech the less this shake should effect aim with speed.

This is a terrible idea. There's already penalties to aiming while moving -- player skill. How often can you realistically say that you hit exactly where you want to hit 100% of the time while moving?

Apparently gyroscopes are lostech.

This is an even worse idea. That puts new players at an even bigger disadvantage. The new player experience is already terribly stacked.

These changes would only promote slow sniping builds even more.

EDIT: fixed spelling

But that is the point of pilotskilltree. You as a pilot get better in using a mech. If it is a basic skill you don´t have that much of disadvantage for new player. I think it is even more fun for new player if they feel like using a giant metal robot( mech ).

I have missed the feeling of a walking robot since my first day in the closed beta.

So you hate Light mechs and want to never see them in a game again?>

You can do a lot in light mechs. Jump an aim when the shake is gone. Or get slower and shoot. The shake effekt didn´t have to be that strong like for jump jets. A light or any other mech has diffrent velocities which have influence on the strength of the shake. For a light could 90 km/h walking. It is also a solution for the problem of the pin point on one location.

Anything that nerfs movement, and thus penalizes piloting skill, is a pretty terrible idea.

Add to that one that promotes a static base defense play because everyone wants the best accuracy...
