This is more of a heads up to everyone out there.

Firstly I'm a married man and this has really ticked me off...

IF YOU USE ANY SEXUAL REFERENCE (e.g. ****** etc.) IN CHAT AND I'M ON YOUR TEAM, I WILL QUIT AND LEAVE YOU TO DIE!

At this point I'm not caring much about stats etc. I'm caring a hell of a lot more about common decency which seems to be lacking on the battlefield at times.

Now watch this video from a REAL general and think about your actions:

Silent Hunter - OUT!

Any sexual reference =/= sexual abuse.

You might want to disconnect from the internet.

Aside from being incredibly immature and going against the CoC, you are leaving six (soon™ to be ten) innocent teammates in the dust for the "misconduct" of one individual. You, sir, are not worthy to be a Mechwarrior.

Misogynistic is a way over used term in modern society. I have rarely seen anything that could be construed as misogynistic in the drop chat. Much more often I see anti homosexual/anti semetic/or racial comments.

If someone is truly being derogatory toward a specific gender or sexual orientation or race then take a screenshot and report it to PGI.

Thing is, I'm friends with cosplayers as well as gamers and the crap they have to deal with from creeps who make them genuinely afraid is unbelievable at times (I have however seen screen captures if the conversations). Basically I'm taking a stance on a 'zero tolerance' line. Take this thread as a warning. If you use any language that I deem to be offensive, sexually derogatory or racist, I WILL END YOU!

Pro troll tip:
Never be obviously trolling. You will seriously undermine your position as moraliser if you yourself cannot form a sentence without the forum word filter going to work. People will figure out you are only a sad little troll and will do the worst possible thing: not react to you.

Thinking about it, I have a favour to ask of EVERY pilot out there. Don't accept this on your battle field. Anyone who does this, blow them away and ask the other team to shut down a team member of the same chasis or weight. If they do, give them a salute and a tip of your hat. Its the only honourable thing to do... End transmission.

Ps I am NOT trolling...

You certainly can take that stance, no one here will stop you.

HOWEVER,

I'd bet all my mechs and Cbills that most of the little juveniles that are DOING IT, DO NOT READ THE FORUMS!!

So you're thread is kind of a waste here.

For the most part, I think you're preaching to the choir here in the forums.

To be sure, I also get tired of all the little brat children in game. It will get better when summer is over and the little darlings all have to go back to school.

Good luck.

I can certainly understand your point of view (can't say I disagree), but I'm not sure how effective your method will be.
You can't exactly tell them to act their age because they probably are. Instead, why not have a little fun with it?

Rather than give a full out nuclear response, respond to his or her comments like you would a small child that has just been naughty. A comment or two like "that guy sure has crabby pants" can not only be effective but can encourage other people to join in on the fun. Nothing like a little peer pressure to get the guy to zip it.

When two of your teammates are name calling each other, give them the "children, please" response.

I've never been fast enough to type this in, but one of these days I'm going to type:
"Whoa, based on the name he just called you, I recommend you skip the double dare and go straight to the triple dog dare!! That will show him!"

Of course, only the older ones will get the reference, but it doesn't matter... I'll be laughing (to myself).

While the sentiment is good, and your intentions are likewise good........ the road to that rather warm place that supposedly exists that I don't believe in, is paved with good intentions.

If any griefers happen to read this thread, they are likely to bait you just to try and get you banned.

And on a different tack, what is seen as offensive to one, is not always seen as offensive by another.

I enjoy cosplay stuff myself, in fact my youngest daughter has taken a liking to cosplaying when we go to LFCC and MCMExpo, so i see what your on about as far as cosplay =/= consent and all that.

But at the end of the day, your not there to police peoples actions. you can ask them to stop and behave, and if they fail, then screenshot and report.

Beyond that, there's noting else you can do. Deliberately DC'ing or TK'ing someone because your not happy with their *matureness* will just get you a bad name amongst the player base.

Just my 2p on the matter
