Watch the fraps clip and notice how the heat builds erratically. This problem was introduced today with the 7/16 patch and is getting me killed. It also occurs with 4x ac2's. (group 1 is the left arm and group 2 is the right arm)

possible serious bug.....

video evidence: using 2x ac2 2x ac5

you can see it around 10sec and 25 sec bigtime

(NO MACROS USED) Right mouse button initiated after Left button

Found this testing the victor when the patch went live. I'm pretty sure it's AC2s only. Especially noticeable with macros like the one in the video. Submit a bug report if you haven't already.

I'd like to make AC/2 cooldown 0.75 away.

It lowers both the DPS and HPS with stacking them, and then as needed, a heat scale can still be applied to them that's based on the 0.5 Chain Fire value that I've read about.

i am not using a macro. Its just my left and right mouse button and i push one slightly before the other.

so....2x ac2 and 2x ac5 is triggering a secret heat penalty?

Ah my mistake. It has the same effect however, they don't seem to have taken into account that people do not always fire all of their AC2s in sync. Why the AC2 has a limit in the first place is a mystery.

My guess is that Fast Fire, pushing cooldown to 0.48, might be part of the problem. I wonder if that is being looked at to eliminate the possibility or not.

Sent in a support ticket, started a thread of my own before this one was brought to my attention http://mwomercs.com/...97#entry2566397

I've been noticing the same things. If you stagger fire 4 AC2 in two groups of 2, the 6th salvo generates upwards of 20% heat by itself. Oddly enough, if you continue stagger firing after that, it goes back to normal heat production. IF however you stop firing and then start firing again, the 6th salvo will again generate the ~20% heat.

I am technically putting out the same volume of fire as group firing all 4 AC2 together at once, but overheating twice as fast.

AC2s aren't even mentioned in the patch notes, so hopefully this isn't a ninja feature and is actually a bug.

There is a heat penalty to AC2s.

http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/

Even though you only have 2 AC2s in the build, if you alter your firing rate to shoot < .5 sec (so with 2, you'd shoot each AC2 every .25 sec or so), you would be producing extra heat over time, as the "timer" probably checks if X weapon is being fired in the .5 sec "chain fire" timing requirement. The firing would show that you would be accumulating heat as if you had 4, 5, to X amount of AC2s that you don't have, but the simple fact that you are firing pretty quickly causes this to occur.

So, it is technically easier to overheat yourself with more ACTUAL AC2s you put on the mech.

I hope this is helpful to you.

There is a heat penalty value in the games xml data, which my site uses, but offically (http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__2563236) there is none, so i added a filter yesterday for weapons with heat penalty in the files but not offically in the patchnotes.

In the xml there is a minheatpenaltylevel value of 4 for the ac2. so even with the heatpenalty in effect (which should not be) the penalty should not apply with only 2 ac2's so i guess the bug is something else.
