(EDIT: Please ignore the line graph. It doesn't show the data in a well mannered traceable way... The Bar Graph is a better at showing the proper data.)

Was just doing some math in another thread, and I discovered something odd... the Commando did not seem to (at stock values at least) gain the full double armor every other mech did when being translated from TT to MWO. Anyone know why the Commando didn't make the "bar" for a full double at stock?

My evidence:
Commando on TT: 8 armor CT.
Commando on MWO: 12 armor CT.
Commando true double: 16 armor CT.

The graphs don't lie!

Did I get faulty data by some chance?

All data gathered at Smurfy ( http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab ) and some random Google search PDF ( http://bg.battletech...th_Counters.pdf ). If anything is off, I'd place my guess on the google search saying 8 instead of 6 armor for the CT... but it doesn't seem like it's off...

The problem is the OP looked at different variants between TT and MWO. The 1D and 3A variants come with less armor, stock, than the other variants.

No, the problem was that OP didn't realize that torso armour is split between front and back.
TT Commando CT: 16 max (stock 8/4)
MWO Commando CT: 32 max (stock 16/8 or 12/4 depending on variant)

It's also conceivable OP didn't realize that stock variants have less than max armour in almost every case.

Commandos can still die in one hit even with the doubling of armor. So basically Commandos did get screwed.

i thought this was going to be about why spiders have 1000 armor and commandos don't.

The max a TT commando can carry is 89 armor.

The max a MWO commando can carry is 178 armor.

Must remember when looking at TT, very few mechs run 100% armor.

Just wait until ya'lls get a 20 ton Mech. Its maximum armor is far less than a 25 tonner. Most new players that will try them will be easy one-hit meat kill-stats and c-bills. 20 tonners in MW4 though were actually decent, but they will suffer hardcore in MWO.

Actually, I looked at the Commando 2D and the Commando 2D. Somehow, I saw 12 last night when I was crunching numbers. Today, I checked, and it said 16. My bad.

The problem was, in Smurfy, when I clicked the 2D, I accidentally clicked the one right above it. The Commando 1D has only 12 armor CT. Thank you for pointing this out for me. Was wondering why it didn't look right!

Um... I was only comparing front CT armor, hence I didn't have 16 as my armor value for the TT commando, and had 8. Also wasn't going with max armor, but stock armor. Needed to have a base somewhere, seen as I don't own any TT books for customization myself.

It was as the person I quoted above said, looked at the wrong variant. Amazing how that can throw off someone's data so much. :P

I would like to thank all the helpful input people presented to me in this thread. I'll be deleting the thread shortly.
