Hey all,

I remember a few years back that there was a site, mechcommander.org, that had MC1 and MC2 available for download. That site is sadly shutdown.

Now I think I have the copy of MC2 from that site from a few years back somewhere lying around, but the iso is lost to a bad hard drive.

With that, I have two questions. First, was this download legit? I don't care for pirates, and I don't want to be one. Second, if it was legit, does anyone know where I can get a new copy?

Any help would be great.

It is legit

You want to be safe, offical is offical.

:)

otherwise I suggest http://www.moddb.com...mander-omnitech

MP is taken out though and not fixable afaik... If I am wrong i would be a happy Clansmen.

According to this MS released the code, just not the networking bits, so it seems like it would be legit, though the trustworthiness of wikipedia is always suspect.

I was able to see several sites with downloads for it when I googled it, but since I don't know the full legality I won't re-post them.

Edit: Ninja'd by CoffiNail. Guess a clanner is good for something! :)

Good work. I'm starting to think that it might be a good idea to create a stickied thread we could contribute to that would contain links to downloads related to the video game franchise (compatability patches, updates, etc).

Okay, so it sounds pretty good. Anyone know how to compile that source code? Like I said, I downloaded the ISO years ago, and I *think* I have it burnt to a disc, but I am not sure. I would love to play it again, never bought it originially, but it was a pretty fun game.

Downloading the update now... If only the Omnitech modders can unlock the MP aspect. That would be amazing to play that mod MP

Hi, my first post...

So I followed the Mic e soft link.

Actually installed fine from the source download.

*But*

All of the scenics like trees and buildings seem to have minor problems with the correct skins.

It looks like they are all using their destroyed prop skin instead of the 'still functioning' one.

Personally, this is a very small compromise to have a fully working game again. And I am happy to make it

But does anyone else have this issue?

CoffiNail you're a god!

Very grateful for that Omnitech link! (Even though I have the Vanilla MCGold and MC2 at hand)

Tried to play this again off my Original disc but my PC isn't detecting my DVD Drive so I can't then I remembered about it being online for free (legit too!) Thanks for the links here made it a lot easier to find
