Back in the day I was in a competitive TFC clan, we had as many as three matches a week. Now as an adult, I don't have the time or inclination to dedicate myself to a "serious" merc corp that is trying to conquer planets.

However, I'd love to find a group of like-minded mechjocks who are interested in organized team play and would be interested in partying up to form lances/companies whenever we happen to be online at the same time to kick DCMS and LCAF pickup groups' butts. Anyone looking for or planning something similar?

MechCorps is going to be fairly casual, mostly comprising veterans of the Tesla II pods, but we're an open group of both veteran BT players, and newer age MW players, far as I know, nobody's been turned away.

Heck I am in. We can even come up with some crazy names for groups like this.

Here is one and it is a little historic....... "The Devil's Brigade"

;)

Well if you're looking for a generally casual group in the FRR, the Skjaldborg Merc Corp is still looking for gamers. We're not diehard like some of the other groups around here and don't require activity. Granted, more active players will place higher on our ranks, but a low availability/activity won't disclude you.

If you're looking to get more info or perhaps sign up, our website is here, and you can submit an application here.

I'm in a similar boat, I'm looking around for companies that may be good players and interested in a casual/pug that can play at a high caliber. I'm GM of a WoW guild that thinks this way, and I'm hoping many of them enjoy mech combat this summer!

I'm a casual gamer by default to many things on my "mech" to really devote to serious gaming so this would be great for me.

I'm up for this also. I'm usually online twice a week gaming over here in the UK. Looking for a casual group to play online with without the pressure of having to be online at certain times and days.

I would like to throw my hat into the ring.

When the game starts I am going to start a merc group. As far as a name you can see by my sig what I am leanin towards. I have played in organized groups but have lacked the time to start anything too serious myself but have always wanted to. If interested send me a message.

Count me in. I have done the competitive thing in other games in the past and just don't have enough time to take it that level anymore.

Well, I have seen a ton of Merc. Com groups springing up. There is a page of all the ones that have a site and such. I know I am getting one formed right now. As soon as I get a site and TS up I'll be happy to accept new members. Lot of interest to join a group.

This is pretty much EXACTLY what we're shooting for here. I'm married, have a job, going to be going back and taking night courses in the hopes of a Masters degree, wife is demanding kids... there's NO way I would have time to run a unit devoted to hardcore organized play with mandatory activity and the like. If I can't live up to it, there's no way in heck I'd force other people to. Our "organization" is there to help people utilize their time BETTER and make life easier. If it isn't serving that purpose, I think it's failing us and needs to be improved. We'll have regular "meet ups", like we do now, set times of the week where you know people will be around, but they are certainly never going to be mandatory. We've broken the 100 member mark, and there's pretty much always people available on our TeamSpeak server for various games (and this is without MWO being live yet). Additionally, we have people that cover every playtime, since we have members from around the world as well as people who work odd hours/have insomnia.

Feel free to follow those links Damon posted, or check out the one in my signiture if that sounds up your alley. ;)

I just woke up from a 8 month nap. The most important thing to remember is: It's not how much you play. It's how big your......autocannon is.....No wait.....Long Range Missile Rack? No I had it a second ago...."its not how much you play"...it's....it's....No...it had nothing to do with coolant towers, and I am pretty sure it had nothing to do with what happens when a Hunchback and a Panther walk into a bar. You know....I can't quite remember where this started, but yeah, Dihm's group always struck me as decent folk. Dihm himself is a bit off, but decent enough folk.

Now.....what was I doing here?
