Ballistics Overpowered

Now that LRM's are mostly balanced, and energy weapons have been heavily nerfed, it's time to look at ballistic weapons and how overpowered they are. Low heat, high projectile speed, and when grouped together they do high pinpoint alpha.
People are regularly mounting multiple ballistic weapons and one or two shotting people from across the map, Especially in the mechs with larger heads.
There needs to be some kind of mechanic to address this for all ballistic weapons. They aren't even significantly affected by ghost heat, since they have such low heat values to begin with.
It's time to nerf ballistic weapons so that they are in line with all other long range weapons.

What ballistics would this be? 2xgauss jager? Charge up time, extreme weight, limited ammo and exploding are pretty good nerfs to that weapon. Dual ac10's couldn't one shot anything and have a long enough recycle time that someone should have moved before getting shot in the cockpit a second time. Same goes for the quad AC5.

Yeah righ thats exactly why i hate this community. These unconstructive comments!
I love getting shot to shreds by 3xUAC5 builds but hey lets not call it overpowered when they get CT cored on a Stalker before i can even unleash 2 or 3 volleys myself. I played a Mysery build with 4 LL and 1 Gauss removed the Gauss after patch because the delay makes it useless for my favorite range.
I think everything is fine with AC line but the UAC is weird DPS in 3xUAC builds. That combined with a heatpenalty onmultiple Energy Weapons makes half my mechbay look pretty ******.

Dont supose any of u crying for ballistic nerfs have tried rapid fireing AC2's lately ?
or been in a position where running 3 UAC5's that all jam mean ur defencless.
or the fact such loadouts mean ur a glass cannon.
No ?
Ok carry on

You've never seen a mech get headshot from across the map? Where have you been? In the minors?
If a mech gets headshot in one shot from across the map by only ballistics, that mech is definitely in the minors.

For example up to 4 LLs or 24SRM tubes (4SRM6) to be fired at the same time without penalty.

I've been using a Jager for a while with 2xAC5's, 2xAC2's, and 2xML's. It has enough ammo for a battle (mostly) and is only missing some armour from the legs. I always fire them as a single group, and even though it heats up quite fast it rips mechs apart, usually before i overheat. Good for some sniping too. I took out a Raven at about 1500m once...obviously it was already heavily damaged though.
AC's have the highest dps and are great for brawling

I headshot a Catapult once at the start of a match. Base to base on River City. I was using twin gauss though...

EDIT: Didn't see the troll disclosure. For those taking this seriously:
The head has 18 points of armor and 18 points of structure and has to be destroyed to 'kill" the mech
You shouldn't/can't (ghost heat) fire 2 AC20s 'across the map'
2 Guass rifles is 30 points of damage, not 36
2 AC10s is 20 points of damage (and cant shoot 'across the map')
4 AC5s is 20 points of damage (and only viable in glass cannons)
2or3 Ultras could do this with EIGHT shots.
4 AC5s can shoot decently far but only barely gets into the internal structure of the head
I will agree that UAC5s received too much of a buff. It was one of my fav weapon pre patch and I never thought I wasn't getting my tons/crits out of them... I was shocked to see it get so much of a buff.
I will also agree that 4xAC5s is very powerful but Its a glass cannon with very little ammo (4x phract)

What world are you two dudes living in??? any time you stick more than one ballistic on your mech your heat skyrockets even on the coldest maps. Are you really serious ??? low heat ??? are you stupid or just never treid them for your self. In the history of MechWarrior yes ballistics were low heat, in MWO they've NEVER been low heat and I've been here since the closed beta. I think you guys are just doing some serious trolling is all . any one that has used ballistics them selves would know they are extremely hot more so than they have ever been in any mech warrior game before.
