My MechWarrior idiea is: tactical game.
It seems you are bringing it to an ***** short range brawler game, by deleting the sniper role patch after patch.

In my opinion ppc and gauss were fine where they were, but if you think that 35 Alpha is overpowered here it is another solution.

the problem is that now the gauss is almost impossible to use and we go with 2 ppc + 2 uac5 or 2 ppc + 1 ac 10 + 3 mdlas, or even 4 mdlas + 2 uac 5, or 2 mdlas and 3 uac 5 on jagermech..................uac 5 are the must have and ballistic weapons rule now. Laser based mechs are almost useless.





Solution A ( MY FAVOURITE)

no wait time to the gauss, as it was before, give that delay time to PPC and ER PPC, but 8 heat to ppc and 12 heat to ER PPC ( now they will not give Alpha problems because of the wait time, and this is balanced by the reduced heat.)heat of ppc might be changed, but the basilar thing is NO DAMN WAIT TIME TO GAUSS.
WE MUST HAVE AT LEAST 1 SNIPER WEAPON





Solution B

gauss does not explode, damage rised to 17 in order to balance the terrible accurancy.





Solution C

all the things are fine where they are now, this is not a tactical game, just take some mismatched weapons, get under 200 meters and shoot like a dic*ead just to see colours and lesten to bum bum dakka dakka like a dumb noob. (and i think this is what the devs are aiming at, even if this would mean that someone is having BRAIN PROBLEMS).

PPCs got nerfed too hard and UAC got buffed so now ppl using UAC5

problem with modifying too many variables at the same time. You can't tell which did what. Was UAC overbuffed? Was PPCs overnerfed? which is at the right level?

Unnerf regular PPCs (9 heat and increase its projectile speed). Gauss is fine, many like it the way it is now. UAC5 are the next to fix issue right now.

The Gauss rifle delay is probematic. It might be fine for a Gauss "boat", but if you want to mix it with weapons (particularly not PPCs), it's a big issue.

But the problems with the weapon balance start so much earlier than this...

The GR load up time isn't so terrible, it could be raised even up to a full second for me. What destroys it is the tight 1.25" time to shoot the rifle which is extremely punishing, it should be raised or taken out completely, once the damn gun is loaded I can do whatever i want with that loaded shot.

solution D:

after firing(press and realease button) weapon group with gauss the gauss will charge itself and fire immediately once charged
rest can remain the same (you can hold the charge for 1.25 if you keep button pressed)

gauss as sole weapon system on mech is atm in a way much better then it was before patch (2000ms is pretty much guaranteed hit) but when used along with different weapons (like brawler mech with gauss as long range weapon) and under heavy fire i doubt anyone can shoot from it even once

Coming back after more than 6 months, here's my spin

Gauss - Terrible. Pulling and then holding the trigger in a combat vehicle? I would NEVER mount this weapon
PPC - Are just fine, if anything need a little less heat. Suggest starting with lower heat and making ghost heat come on earlier, to reduce boating and to make them useful. When I left you were lucky to be able to use 2 PPCs on a mech and the damage was spread all over, so it's good to see them be a lot more useful which is aligned to their use in canon material.

UAC5
- Fine
SRMs - Poor damage, spread all over, needs buff on damage
LRMs - Very poor weapon, having valid support mechs is not practical
AC10 - Fine
AC20 - Fine
Lasers - All need a reduction in firing time by 20-50%. The spread is still too much to make them useful against fast mechs
Ghost heat - I hate it and I also think it's good for an incentive for a variety of weapons. If it came with some kind of explanation for it, it would have been better, to say that ghost heat is because the available coolant to those weapons gets temporarily over loaded when firing too many at once.
Maps - Great that there's more variety, though in all of this time they really ought to be 50 maps!
Mechs - Good variety and more coming, seems good
Still Beta - This makes me laugh the most.
Churn - A little slow for the casual user for CBills especially taking me forever to get a few million for module *rolls eyes*. I've still got 90 days of premium time, but 50% is still too damm slow, should be at least 100% to be an incentive.
