Hello.
So I thought I would add some alternatives.
I have an X52 and using the provided config files and instructions, got it working. But it was not fun, and I played a lot worse with the joystick and Throttle. So I am stuck with my track mouse and N52 Keypad, same as using the keyboard for movement.

My x52 throttle is still plugged in, and I got it so I can play with the throttle instead of the N52.

This will be my quick instructions on how to use the Throttle and a Mouse. There are just a few things you have to change in the Saitek Profile Editor.

Using ypur left hand on keyboard or the N52, all of those buttons are for movement and sighting options. So an easy jump to the Throttle, is when the buttons match up on both controllers.

Out of the box, the Throttle wants to do things, like look around, and shoot stuff. And of course none of the corresponding keyboard/N52 buttons are nominal.

Configuring the Saitek's Throttle Profile Editor.

My Software Version is Version 7.024.8 - Driver Version 7.027.13

We want to set as little as possible in the MWO Settings. If we can have the Throttle Editor emulate a pre-set key, that would be optimal. "Latched" means the key will hold and repeat. "Unlatched" is single key press.
...
By default, the Rotary positions and most Buttons are Latched and will repeat. To get around this, right click on the Button cell and choose New Macro. Then press the desired key and release. That will enable a single Button press. Macro Buttons will appear shaded, while a regular repeating Button will be white.

On the Throttle the smaller middle blue Button is for Toggle Zoom Mode "z".
>> Fire D = Zoom Mode Macro "z"

The Throttle's big "E" Button is for Target Lock, the UnLatched "r" button.
>> Fire E = Target Lock Macro "r"

The tiny Mouse Fire button on the Throttle is for Thrust. That needs to be changed in the Saitek Profile Editor as well. In the Saitek Editor, the Mouse Fire needs to be set to Unprogrammed.
>> Mouse Fire = Thrust "Space"

>> Wheel Button - Override Shutdown Macro, "o".
>> Wheel Scroll down = Weapon Door Toggle "/".
>> Wheel Scroll Up = Full Stop Macro, or X.

The bottom "i" blue Button on the Throttle (the Clutch Button) will be for Toggle Adv. Zoom [Module Required]
This one is tricky. Open the Joystick Control Panel. Go to the "MFD" tab and there down at the bottom right it says "Clutch Settings" and then "Enable Clutch Mode". Make sure "Enable Clutch Mode is checked.
>> Clutch Button = Video Zoom Module Macro "v"

For Left and right we are will be using the Front POV Hat 3. This is for A and D.
Holding the Throttle, POV Hat 3 Up is for Overlay, and POV Hat 3 Down is for Free Look "Lft Control".

>> POV Hat 3 = Buttons (8-way)
>> POV Hat 3 Up = Target Overlay "q"
>> POV Hat 3 Up/Rgt = Target Overlay/Rgt "dq"
>> POV Hat 3 Right = Turn Right "d"
>> POV Hat 3 Dwn/Rgt = Turn Right "d"
>> POV Hat 3 Down = Weapon Door Toggle "/"
>> POV Hat 3 Dwn/Lft = "Free Look "Lft Control""
>> POV Hat 3 Left = Turn Left "a"
>> POV Hat 3 Up/Lft = Target Overlay/Left "aq"

Throttle's Rotary 1 and Rotary 2. These require going to your Throttle Profile and changing from the default Directional Axis, to the "Bands". Bands will give the Rotary 3 buttons Presses. A left, middle, and right.

As for the smaller Rotary 1, that has 3 positions, Left for Night Vision "n", Center to do nothing. And Right is for Thermal Vision "h".
Here we will need to set the Rotary positions as Advanced Macros. So Right click on the Cell and choose "New Advanced Command..." That will open up a window with a Command Name, a Press, and a Release. For Advanced Macro "n" for example, we Name it, click in "Press" and type "n" and then choose the "Macro" Check box. Then on the "Release" you also click "n". That makes it toggle.

>> Rotary 1 = Bands
>> Rotary 1 0% - 33% = Night Vision Advanced Macro "n"
>> Rotary 1 33% - 67% = "(Do Nothing)"
>> Rotary 1 67% - 100% = Heat Vision Advanced Macro "h"

The upper Rotary, or Rotary 2 is for switching ECM mode "j".
Works great. On the Rotary, position 1 or 3 will Toggle ECM. Of course it would be cooler if you could switch from one ECM mode to the other instead of toggling...
Right Click on the Cell and Choose New Advanced Command, name it "Toggle ECM Mode Adv". In the Press box put a "j". Choose OK.
>> Rotary 2 = Bands
>> Rotary 2 0% - 33% = Toggle ECM Mode Adv Macro "j"
>> Rotary 2 33% - 67% = "(Do Nothing)"
>> Rotary 2 67% - 100% = Toggle ECM Mode Adv Macro "j"

The Throttle's Precision Slide for MWO's 3rd Person Combat Camera. Set in the Throttle Profile to be "Bands". There are two choices for the Bands, one is to split the Slider into 2 positions and have 3rd Person simply toggle.
>> Precision Slide = Directional Axis
>> Precision Slide + = 3rd Person View "F4"
>> Precision Slide - = 3rd Person View "F4"
OR
The other choice for the Band is to have the Slider be in three positions, the Map could be position 2, and position 3 would be for "F4". I this case there would be no Show Battlegrid.
>> Precision Slide = Bands
>> Precision Slide 0%-33% =
>> Precision Slide 33%-67% = 3rd Person View Advanced Macro "F4"
>> Precision Slide 67%-100% = Show BattleGrid Advanced Macro "b"

Next is the Throttle's Blue Ministick. This corresponds with the N52 Thumb Directional, so the actions are the same. Up is Launch UAV, Down is AirStrike, Right is Artillery. Left is CoolShot.

Currently I am using Directional Axis mode:
Or Ministick needs to be set to "Directional Axis". Ministick X Axis+ is then set to "Insert". Ministick X Axis-, set to "End". Ministick Y Axis+, set to "", and Ministick Y Axis- set to "Delete"

>> Ministick X Axis - >> Directional Axis
>> Ministick X Axis + >> Launch UAV Advanced Macro "Insert"
>> Ministick X Axis - >> Call Artillery Advanced Macro "Home"

>> Ministick Y Axis >> Directional Axis
>> Ministick Y Axis + >> Call Air Strike Advanced Macro "End"
>> Ministick Y Axis - >> Cool Shot Advanced Macro "Delete"

We also can use Band Mode:
>> Ministick X Axis - >> Bands
>> Ministick X Axis 0%-33% >> Cool Shot Advanced Macro "Delete"
>> Ministick X Axis 67%-100% >> Artillery Advanced Macro "Home"

>> Ministick Y Axis >> Bands
>> Ministick Y Axis 0%-33% >> Launch UAV Advanced Macro "Insert"
>> Ministick Y Axis - >> Call Air Strike Advanced Macro "End"

Bands option over Directional Axis, is one better?

Here are the Setting Options we need to edit/set in MWO.

The goal here is to only set Buttons to the Throttle with the Saitek Profile. In a perfect world this box will contain no instructions.

>> Analog Throttle >> Joy 1 Axis Z

The Razer N52
The Razer Nostromo/N52 puts the bulk of the movement keys on a easy to grab controller. It could not work any better and I recommend one.

Getting used to the N52 is easy. The only button I immediately change is to set the N52 Thumb Button to Zoom Module (When Equipped). For fun, change the N52's D6 from Caps to (key) Free Look.

So let's list all the N52 Buttons:
WASD Movement

01
02 - Q - Show Target Overlay

E

R - Target Lock

F - >> Change <<

Z - Zoom Mode
X - Full Stop

C - >> Change <<

Space - Thrust

Update these N52 Profile Settings for MechWarrior play:

Thumb Button >> Zoom Module (When Equipped) "v"

Button 01 >> Show BattleGrid Overlay "b"
Button 06 >> Free Look "Left Control"
Button 11 >> ECM Mode "j"
Button 14 >> Weapon Door Toggle "/"

Scroll Mousewheel Up "2" >> Update to Night Vision "n"
Scroll Mousewheel Press "1" >> Override "o"
Scoll Mousewheel Down "3" >> Update to Thermal Vision "h"
Toggle Scroll Up to turn Night Vision on and off. Toggle Scroll Down to turn Thermal Vision on and off.

Thumb Directional Up >> UAV "Insert"
Down >> Call Artillery strike "Home"
Right >> Call Air Strike "End"
Left >> CoolShot."Delete"
