BTW, does anyone know if there is a link to NGNGTV's July 11th Twitch broadcast? Jin-Roh met with the IGP staff that night. It would be neat to see us.

I did. Breadstick fight is best fight. I wish they'd post them on youtube the same day since I have issues with their on-site video player. -__-

The forums are full of hilariously bad arguments for one thing or another. I read through something about people complaining the light population is "always" ~10-15% yet they don't want to be the one to jump in a light. They want other people to jump in lights so they get more one-shot kills in their heavies and assaults.

"They don't have enough tonnage to mount significant firepower"... uhhh.... yeah. "Light." Not "medium." Not "heavy." JR7-F has 30 point alpha. Just like the Dragon Slayer. Meta shadowhawk has an alpha of 20-25. Most were complaining about spiders but you get what, 150kph?, ECM with jumpjets and a profile only slightly bigger than a commando? You made up for "only being able to mount an ERLL and a ML. Poor you.

People just don't have the skill to play lights. Usually when I hear people blaming the mechs for their struggles, I assume it's actually just the pilot.

Yep, it's nearly always the pilot. Most of the Mechs in the game are highly playable and can be very effective if done right.

Lights have a bad rep because of the small amount of weaponry they can mount, but it's an unjust oversight. A good Light pilot can beat a Heavy or Assault pilot easily. Just the other day, we got swarmed by a Light Lance that had some phenomenal pilots in it. They got close and shredded our long-range Mechs easily - it was embarrassing but spectacular to watch.

*Chuckle* Yeah, Drop Night was interesting. We had some 10-Mans going and completely rolled a match on Alpine. It was exhilarating!

...But then I capped it off by confusing everyone on Terra Therma and losing the match for the team. I was trying to coordinate everyone to push through one entrance and take a lone lance of Red Team's, but I forgot to specify which entrance! When I said, "Go!" everyone went like the troopers they all are...and died because they thought I was ordering a straight charge. I felt bad about it last night, but it was also kind of humorous. I got all excited and was like, "This is it! It's our chance! Everyone, let's go!" and so everyone pushed what was in front of them.

Next time, I'll be sure to specify a sector!

Overall, we had a great time dropping last night and I'm proud of our boys for how well they handled themselves. We put up some good numbers!
