Omen
Götterdämmerung
Jade Hawk
Shiro
Deimos
Night Wolf
Mad Cat Mk II
Viking IIC

Edit: Here are some of the mechs I want. I think they are throwing away tons of money not offering the full list of mechs. Going on a 1:1 Timeline is just unrealistic. It needs to be 1:10 so by the 3rd or 4th year we can have all the mechs and PGI can start creating their own canon mechs :). I'd like to see the ideas Alex has. For the record I don't care to have the melee weapons or hand weapons I just want the designs of the mechs I linked.

Stick 1:1.

There are still a more than a dozen IS mechs in the current time frame not even a announced. Not to mention the clan mechs.

I haven't been keeping up, but from what I understand the clan invasion happened earlier this year, and because of project phoenix, won't be done in December. Doesn't that mean they've already dropped the 1:1 scale, and now it's just a glorified restriction on jihad era mechs?

I totally forgot about the timeline.

Which is, I suppose, PGI's way of solving the problem. Just pretend it never happened.

I'm pretty sure PGI have dropped the 1:1 timeline. However, I think that means that for the present, we're restricted to pre-clan invasion mechs - ie. 3050 or earlier.

PGI have implied that somewhere down the road they might release later mechs - the MW4 staples (Uziel, Bushwacker, Thanatos, etc.) in particular. However, I think that depends very heavily on the success of this game in the long term, and we've got Project Phoenix and the Clan Invasion to get through first.

I thought that they had reset it, but dropping it wouldn't be a bad idea, with the pace they work at. Still if the choice is power ranger look alike mechs with swords I'm quite willing to wait another 40 years..tasteful mech designs went out the window at approximately 3029.

no real desire to play with a bunch of hawken look alikes, I passed on MW4

They will most likely reset the timeline.

They also mentioned that they consider sharding different timelines.

I'd rather they roll back to 3025 to be honest.

But they won't/can't because they have to sell people Mad Cats.

Look I want all the Batteltech mechs made or at least most of them even the older IS ones. I'm just not going to wait 10-40 years for some of "MY" favorites. We don't even have a story mode so honestly I don't care for the timeline. I just want the content and down the road I want my single player.

How about just ignore the timeline completely.... Just release the most popular mechs biased on community votes via the Game Launcher.

While I'd love to see a single player MW game with MWO graphics and gameplay, I hope you have an awful lot of patience. PGI have basically said there are NO plans to have a single player mode.

It's not just mechs but tech that they need to create for later mechs. Heck we can't even get these tier 1 and 2 tech items balanced and you want to just go hog wild and throw them all in at once? There is a reason they decided on a timeline concept, which is a graduated release of technology to see in the game. Heck we are still missing quite a few pieces of tech for the current timeline.

I can understand not everyone grew up on 3025 and 3050 tech and want to play that, but throwing out the timeline in general is a bad idea.

Btw I love how you inverted the poll, so that the title words it opposite the wording in the poll. So many people probably clicked 'no' without even looking at what that meant.

Umm, I just typed up my opinion as the title, and added the poll after. I really don't see how its a trick. If people don't read and then make a vote they shouldn't have voted anyway.

It should be the last content drop. I'd pay another $120 if it was good enough with cutscenes, a full fledged story using iconic battles in the Batteltech timeline; with an added clan view of the IS campaign and a create your own mission editor.

this game will feel better, when you know that the mech you're piloting are actually there for a reason. IE clan invasion etc. etc.

besides if they get rid of 1:1 timeline we won't get the clan invasion. and that is going to be fun

I am almost certain what PGI is doing is just dropping the 1:1 idea and just restarting next year with the 3050 era Clan Invasion. Once they allow players to play this timeline long enough and to PGI's satisfaction, they will move to the next big event in the timeline.

Seems logical to do this to exploit the full breath of Battletech.

I think they said that they would be resetting the timeline at launch because they fell behind with the Clan invasion, but they still want to give the 1:1 idea a chance. If true, that would mean that we're back to 3049 now.

In your opinion...

My opinion game will feel better when I have my Timberwolf. Like I said I'm down for a GOOD single player, I would pay good money, but assault or conquest just feel downright pointless. We don't even get a true base or some sort of drop ship to protect. Just some dumb capture point.

I won't feel better cause they follow some timeline that's already happened 5-6 times. I want my mechs, simple as that. There is no way with CW they will tell any kind of story so honestly what purpose does it serve? I'll tell you it's an excuse to give the lazy devs ample time to milk what little game we do have. Besides the Catapult and the Atlas I really don't care about any other mechs, the game is growing rediculosly stagnant.

Here has always been my issue with the way the timeline is going. You started a timeline that is advancing in a universe before you even launch the game for retail release and THEN you have a timeline advancing for a game universe that the players aren't even playing in. The timeline as it stands now serves no purpose other than having an idea as to when new mechs will be relaxed. The players haven't done anything to be able to immerse themselves in the timeline at all. What's the point of even having a timeline? Do the players have a chance to participate in anything throughout that timeline? Do the players have anything to do with the timeline? Do the players have any effect or participation in the timeline at all? The answer, unfortunately, is a resounding no. There's no battle within the timeline. The more and more everything in this game progresses the more it seems like all of these immersion features do are give pgi a reason and mechanic to release new mechs and hero mechs. What is the actual point and reason of having the timeline is what I would ask at this point. They cannot even reset the timeline at this point in my opinion because of the much releases that have already occurred. We have advanced years in this game's timeline and what exactly was the point? What has having a timeline accomplished other than giving the company a reason to release a new mech?

As of right now the 1:1 timeline is more or less scrapped.

They are now only loosely following the timeline. They've mentioned in a NGNG I believe that they might reroll the timeline back to the start of the clan invasion for community warfare or at least a month or two before hand. I believe they'll continue the 1:1 timeline until the Battle of Tukkayyid at the end of the Clan invasion then skip to 3055 for several fan favorite mechs.

Best leave the time line in the past. It'll give PGI the flexibility to introduce things when the game is ready not when a book writen 13 years ago said it should be.; other wise we'll be waiting till 2023 for the UAC/20.
