Something akin to the actual canon behind the Raven, when I built and rendered the version of my Raven, I was somewhat unsatisfied with the result. With inspiration, a few days later I fixed up the design to my liking. I then wasted some intermediate renders as I thought of minor adjustments after the render's completion, and I finally compiled six renders of two models.

The final design is largely based off of the MWO RVN-3L. A few major aspects and details were neglected as they were either flimsy, ugly, or impossible in the scale I had chosen. Incidentally the scale I chose was matched to GizmoGecko's LDD Dragon. There was no room for a minifigure, I probably won't buy a physical model any time soon, though I might render models of other variants or color schemes.

LDD File. Compatible with LEGO Digital Designer.

I salute you, sir or madam. I love it.

I just wish there was a way to easily purchase all the necessary pieces to construct something we make in that program. Last time I looked I had to cross-reference part names with another website, hoping the pieces were even made anymore. Real PITA, let me tell you...

V2 for sure. Legs could use to be a skosh longer. But looks pretty sweet. And a lot less expensive to build than some.

Is it possible to get those lego renders on an alpha channel? That would be handy for a number of things...

Yes.

Also yes. Though the only method I know, disabling the base plain, also gets rid of the fancy shadow.

Oh, another question: Can those models be exported in a 3D format? Like an .obj file?

Yes, I've used it several times before, though it's terribly roundabout.
  • Set LDD to its lowest settings.
  • Open up the desired model.
  • Rip the model using 3DVIA Printscreen, it will be a .3dxml file.
  • Use a KoichiSenada 3ds Max plugin called 3dsMaxConvertXML (only works in 32-bit version of 3ds Max?) to convert the .3dxml model to a .max file. Incidentally I have no idea where to get this, a friend gave it to me via email.
  • Remove the LDD base plane.
  • Convert the model to any desired format using 3ds Max.
While I use 3ds Max for the conversion, I'm not to familiar with it, so I throw it into Blender. I used the model to do some comparisons of the LEGO model to the MWO model.

My analysis was that, on the LEGO model, the legs are closer, the arms are larger, the missile bank is far bigger, the side torsos are a bit taller, and the head (beak?) is still quite different.

May I request any?

I can attempt a request, though the varying shapes causes the difficulty of building mechs to vary wildly. Humanoid mechs are especially daunting.

Ah, I know the problems behind building with lego just as you do.
I will request the Cicada, for it is my favorite.
