My brother and I frequently play MWO together. Our computers are connected through a LAN to the internet. We usually play as a two person group. What happens is that when he quits out of a match, either at the end of the round or after he dies, approximately 50% of the time it forces a quit from my client as well. If he dies before the end of a round he will usually wait until I have died as well or the match has ended to quit because of this issue, but there have been rounds in which he has forgot and I have quit mid-combat. This bug has never occurred in the opposite direction, a quit from my client forcing a quit from his.

This has only ever happened when playing with him over a LAN. Other people have been part of our group before and we did not experience the issue with the other members of the group, even when it happened to me.

Have you also submitted a support ticket on this? PGI tends to look at these sooner than forum posts and it also allows them to update their issues database. Good luck with resolution.

I've experienced this issue too.

I have two computers in a LAN behind a NAT-router, so the machines have local IP-addresses (192.168.0.X). When playing on both computers (in a same group and thus in the same game), if the other player exists a match, the other one is also forcefully exited from the match also, even though he/she isn't dead or anything.

sorry bout that

well, this is probably because the game disconnects the user by the main IP.

Do you have a modem everyone goes off of?

Not using a modem, but yeah, all connections come behind one single public IP.

I haven't had this problem and me and 3 of my mates occasionally LAN MWO together. I reckon it'll be something to do with the router/switch.

I filed a support ticket around the same time I posted this thread. According to the person who responded to my ticket it is considered a known issue. The workaround is simply to make sure that people playing from within the same LAN do not quit from a match until everyone in the LAN have died or the match ends. So, pretty much what we've been doing but at least it is something they know about.
