First, isn't that the worst Hero Mech name ever?? D:

Any, the whole point of Pighead is the 400 engine. But as we all know, XL Atlas don't generally survive for too long - unless, just maybe, it can go for 70 km/h. Therefore it only makes sense to make it a mobile midfield support/tank 'Mech. I haven't bought it yet (I'm not complaining, but 7500MC is quite some money), but here is my guess:

XL400, 16DHS, Endo, 5xML, 1xAC10(3ton), 1xALRM20(3ton), BAP

This should provide some impressive CQB damage output, as well as a tad of long-range firepower provided by LRM20. Plus there're only three groups of weapons, which is easy to handle.

Although you could also do something like this...:

STD380, 17DHS, Endo, 6xML, 1xAC20(3ton)

BTW: great soundtrack.

Trying to find a good build for the BH myself, not easy to be honest.

1 ac/20
std 320

Not bad - Heat is 1.19

You shouldn't put a XL in an Atlas. Even 71km/h isn't fast enough to avoid shots. You will find your right side blown up pretty often.

I would run something like this: BOAR'S HEAD

You need at least 16 DHS to cool the 6ML. You could swap a ML for a tag though.

that's a good build, but I'd put the case on the ac/20.

my first thought was that the boar's head is about speed combined with energy weapons, but i suck with ppc's, so i'm trying fire support now with LRMs

You don't need LRMs if you got some long range weapons like LL. With just ML and an AC20 your range is beneath 400m.

So yes LRMs won't make you total useless 90% of the time. And a single SRM/SSRM wont do anything at all.

PS: The CASE should be where your ammo is, the AC20 cant explode. And i never get legged in my Atlas :(

It's easy

Beyond Easy.

Here:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...fe2544cd3907d1d

And Murder everything.

Getting between 500-900 dmg a match.

Keep all lasers in group 1, and all lasers in group 2 but in chainfire. 3 for AC and 4 for LRM's.

Generally I use the chainfire because it's easier to control my heat so I don't accidentally shutdown

What has science DONE!?

Anyone remember the weapon groups for the Supernova in MW3? XD

(Special Note: just whipped that up for fun, the armor is just the derpy value assigned by smurfy's when going from 0 to max so if you actually try this thing, dont worry about the armor)

I sorta think PGI needs to reduce the tonnage on the 375-400 standard engines. Perhaps they've got a reason for it, factoring in the Gyro or the Cockpit or something, but they're all 7 tons heavier than the TT values, Actually, most of them are off...although oddly, the very light engines, like say a 100 engine, is actually lighter in MWO than in TT. Still if the 400 Standard weighed 52.5 tons instead of 59.5 tons, you could do 6 MLs & an AC/20 with 4 tons of ammo and 18.5 tons of armour.

Give this one a try.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...74d0badff859811

It can Alpha without overheating for 50 Damage (About 59% heat on Forest Colony.)

I use the ERLL for long range,

Then group the ERLL and ML for brawl, and group the LPL on chainfire so I can manage heat.

Pretty solid. This evolved from a 6xLPL build, which was a total heat monster but you could Alpha without blowing up.

Only issue is you have to strip the Endo-Steel frame out... :D 'CB 500,000 and if you later want to go back to Endo it will cost another 'CB 1,000k

You'd probably be better off with this. ERs for Long range, LPLs & MPLs for in close and to avoid triggering Ghost Heat. With a bit better arrangement of weapons an extra DHS can be added managing the additional heat from the MPLs.

I expect to see a fair amount of these in the days to come.

I doubt many people will use a 400 Standard engine like this...which is grossly underpowered for 100 tons. Even with an Ultra or something. I suppose they could do AC/10 and 6 SLs or something.

Probably either of these two for me if I want to insist on the 400XL. Both have 16 DHS.

Boar's Head 1x Gauss 4xGauss Ammo 6xMedium Laser 1xLRM15+A 3xLRM Ammo 1xAMS 400XL

Boar's Head 1xAC10 3xAC10 Ammo 6xMedium Laser 1xLRM20+A 3xLRM Ammo 1xAMS 400XL

If the 400 engine weighed 52.5 tons, then you would need to add the weight of the cockpit and gyro, in which case you'd be right back where you started.
