Crashed to Desktop? Fatal Error? Frozen? Let us know what happened here!

Please attempt to respond to the following questions in your responses:
  • Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which?
  • Where in the game or menus did the crash occur?
  • What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring?
  • Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps?
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
  • What are your System specs? (You can include them in a [spoiler] [ /spoiler]
In some cases we've seen that deleting the shaders folder and relaunching the game will solve these crashes and related issues.

Simply delete the shaders folder located here by default:
C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER\Shaders
Otherwise, please use our new repair tool, which will verify your game directory files and repair any file issues:http://mwomercs.com/...public-release/
Remember to contact us at support@mwomercs.com with your dxdiag for additional 1-to-1 support from our Game Masters!

To find your crash dumps for support, the file is labelled "crashdump.dmp" and the default location is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER

Strange crash for me.

Just before, i was clock during the patchnig (1/3); i restart the patch, all is fine.
And when i want to access to main screen after login, the game crash.

Try to delete shade folder, and run on different mode but nothnig work.

- No Error message after crash.

- the game just crash after typing my password and get the main screen menu.

- Crash always with this step (simply launch and connect), admin and xp mode !

- No change for my vidéo setting

- About 3.5Ghz quad core (i5), 4go ram and a 6870 radeon, but i perfectly run MWO before patch.

Had my first crash in game. All of a sudden everything stopped and only the idle engine sound was playing. Nothing responded. Had to force quit. No error messages.

If its definitely a crash you should find a file crashdump.dmp in your USER folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER please open a support ticket support@mwomercs.com and attach this file. This will allow us to investigate.

Frequent freezing, same as last 2 or 3 patches. Sometimes works fine for hours on end, sometimes freezes first game every time. I just came from my second "run game, launch match, freeze" cycle in a row.

Only difference seems to be, the repair tool no longer constantly finds mismatched files after closing the game (only occasionally now).

Freezing happens regardless of mech, map, or gamemode chosen, or how much action is happening on-screen at the time.

[EDIT]
Make that 3 run-launch-freeze cycles in a row.

i was playing today and i started in my new shadow hawk in river city and then the game immediatly crashed and when i say crash i dont mean it just booted me from the game. i mean MY ENTIRE PC CRASHED! the screen went to black and "no signal" showed up on my monitor. im scared to start playing the game again because i dont want to damage my PC from having to do another hard reset, especially since i have a 500$ graphics card in there.

also occasonally the game will crash in the mech lab, last time it happened i was editing the thunderbolt but didnt like the changes so i pressed cancel and then it crashed, luckally that crash was not a terrible crash like what happened above.

please do something about this as i already miss shooting things in my battlemaster.

I experience the same type of crash... as I connect to a game the screen first turns black as if loading and I can hear the engine sounds and then it jumps out to the desktop. When I reload the client it shows that my mech is in a game

I need to be on the battlefield in my new Battlemaster...

Add one decent 3-hour session followed by a crash-to-desktop. Not sure I've ever gotten a CTD before.

I have been suffering from the freezing bug for sometime now(totally locks up - have to crlt/alt/del out), slowly getting worse. I have done a clean install of the game. It seemed fine for about 2 days. then just the last few games it started micro freezing, once or twice a game, but seemed to come fine. Then they started to freeze longer, now totally freeze, back to square one.

I am having a similar problem.

While updating the new patch, my PC BSOD and restarted. Tried launching MWO, it says play - go through the whole intro video and after logged in, game closes.

I then restored MWO to the previous version (yes I keep backups) and tried patching again. Same thing.

Tried running the repair tool, run as admin, deleted shaders - no dice.

Haven't changed any settings before the patch. Looks like a corrupt download keeps screwing my installation.

Spec's as follow :

Whenever I'm in mechlab and press Cancel the game crashes. This will happen every 3 out of 4 times when pressing the Cancel button in mechlab.

I haven't been crashing to the desktop, but since the Oct. 17 patch I've been crashing back to the mech select screen about 50% of the time.

I select a mech, hit launch, the "searching" progress comes up, hangs there for 3-5min, the screen flashes back and I'm back at the mech select screen and the mech I selected is locked out.

I've also noticed a rash of disconnects in the games I do get into. Sometimes as many as 8 of the people on each team will d/c at the same time.

Game was running fine before patch. Game now crashes 100% of the time. Once I hit launch, the game minimizes to desktop, when I try to hit icon in taskbar, it pops up with black screen, a moment of sound, then back to desktop. Tried to restore it multiple times. I have to shut program down manually. It is now totally unplayable. not even training grounds. Video card and windows is updated. Also ran MWO repair tool.

Edit- It was fullscreen mode. Once I changed to full windowed (horrible res) or windowed (small screen) the match ran.

So, with last patch my situation changed.. but not so criicaly as it needed and expected. Instead countless different engine errors its now several errors (listed below). Welll, less is better then more but still not so good as none. All those errors appear only when match already started (and anytime after untill its done), or right after map is loaded.

Cry egine errors
Memory allocation for XXXXXX bytes failed
where XXX are:
44698328
8432397
5592404
5592540
1781352
11141848

System spec:
AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual core 6000+, 3.00 Ghz, 3.12 Gb of RAM, Nvidia GF GTX 550Ti (current driver ver. 6.14.13.790 - as most stable for me). Win XP SP3.

Reminder - game repair tool didnt help. Re-install cliend didnt help. Change driver - didnt help. Changing game settings - same result.

P.S. Ewery time when error appear it minimize game window to taskbar, and only after 55.... and 44.... errors it can be re-minimized with 'mech skins corrupted (glow parts (weapons) and whole my mech is covered with hit marks).

-EDIT-
Got "new" error - 2796200. Same as allways - map was loaded but instead start match this error appear. Cant play this game - 95% of my games end before start becouse of those errors...

-EDIT-
Next one - 1385632. Every day I can play like 2-3 of 10 games...

Next one - 27962004...

The client crashes out saying server connection lost. Nothing else. You guys deserve the Nobel prize for designing such a great client.. We were on the verge of winning a Conquest game with me and another light as the other surviving mech and I crashed out. GREAT JOB!!!!

I installed the game yesterday and I was only able to start a trial game. Whenever I try a multiplayer game, I either crash to desktop with no error message or I get the following error: FRead did not read expected number of byte from file, only 128 of 0 bytes read.

I'm giving up on this game.

Trying to run the game again gave me a blue screen of death on Windows 8.1 PRO 64bit :)

Vasconcellos Windows 8 is not officially supported at this time. If you want to try again though the FRead error can be fixed using the repair tool.
