To begin, please allow me to complement your team on the Project Phoenix pack. It is splendid to have my old favorite Battlemechs in this excellent game, where they belong. Speaking for myself, I am quite pleased with the Battlemaster, Thunderbolt, and Locust. However, there is a glaring and obvious problem with the Shadow Hawk.
Like everyone else on the forums, I saw the preview screenshots of the Shadow Hawk. I noted with concern that it seemed to be quite a bit larger than the Centurion. I feared it would be at least as tall as the Thunderbolt; and mostly as massive.
Most of my fellow MWO players calmly reserved judgement; perhaps it was merely bad camera angles. Poor mech placement. Perhaps it was really only a little big.
I have now played the Shadow Hawk and it's fellow Phoenix 'mechs since the patch went live today. After that experience, with my own Shadow Hawk and team-mates, I must point out to you that the 'mech as modeled is unacceptably large.
I am obliged to point out that I was sold the Shadow Hawk - and the Wolverine and Griffin of Saber - based on their concept artwork. As delivered, the Shadow Hawk deviates quite a lot from its concept art. This is the image upon which I based my purchase:
And these mechs are the product I expected to be delivered.
This is not a Quickdraw; this is not a free-to-play 'mech which I could simply obtain at my leisure. The Shadow Hawk is premium content directed to your most profitable player base. You have an obligation to deliver a product that meets our the expectations of that player base. As one of those players, please allow me to recommend the following courses of action.
1. Please post an acknowledgement that there is a size problem with the Shadow Hawk; and that actions will be taken to correct it as soon as possible. (Immediately would be great, but as part of a general tweaking of model sizes in a few weeks - along with other afflicted mechs - would do).
2. Please acknowledge and explain to us why the PP mech's skins are incorrect. Decals and text clearly shown in the concept art is not present. It is possible that this deviation is due to an upcoming decal feature and not part of the skin. Please let us know if this is the case. If not, please correct the PP 'mechs to appear as their concept artwork; with numbers, insignia, and text.
3. Please reassure us that the Griffin and Wolverine absolutely will not suffer from the size problems of the Shadow Hawk.
After all, this is what I paid for.
Not this:
Thank you for your attention and consideration. I appreciate your efforts to redress my concerns as one of your valued core customers.
